actually i know more bout new subaru impreza 1.6ts? coz i think, i will brought soon on next year? anybody drive before or owner?
anyway i'm amateur....wat bout the maintance n parts?
wat cost izzit? n where i going 2 fix?

oh...almost 4got 1 thing subaru forester 2.0 Auto (1997/01)
n izzit 4WD full time?

I own one. Maintenance is more than a proton wira 1.6. It costs RM120K. You fix it at
either in MOTORIMAGE, pj, RS in USJ, or SUWAH'S shop in sg. buloh. Or at any mechanic for minor work. Major repairs, go to the above.

Its a nice drive. Handles well, down on power but has nice gearing to cover it up. Chassis is rigid, quality is high, street cred very high.

all foresters are AWD. same places above to maintain. Cost lookup in motor trader.

The 1.6ts is readily available is Singapore, and not difficult to spot one.
Parts for Subaru are readily available in Singapore, especially for TS...
So it will not be a problem..

the Forester is an SF, i think it depends on wat SF is it..
There is an STI version on the Forester as well....
Look for the Code of the SF you are viewing before deciding.
Lastly, i assume it is full time AWD, as i think same with my impreza..

Mine is a manual. All new TSs sold in Malaysia are manual. WITH THE EXCEPTION of the earlier bugeyed TS wagons.

As for forresters, driven on SF model (pre 01 or was it 02?). And it was fun, however, note that the car is already 8 years old. I'd ask for full service history if i were u. Or at least ask and see if major servicing like the cambelt change, auto trans fluid change (if its auto - damn expensive for a new box) and so forth. However, if it were me, i'd go for a GC impreza of the same year if i was looking for such a car. Try localing those sold by Autodunia. The standard WRX. these cars are around 1997/98 and I still see some in nice stock standard condition. Why buy stock standard? They tend to be well kept and less stressed (no mods means less stress to the engine and chassis)

thanks man u reply some info....luckly i did not decide buy the subaru forester..anyway i will book the subaru impreza 1.6ts 2003/2005model..
but today i call the dealer the car selling hot pancake & he said now only 1 stock n blue colour,i think so...
however i hope the bank approve the loan :frown:
