Hi Guys,

I'm about the get a Altezza, its coz about 80K,1999/2004. its coz about 80k.
Is this price okay? and is there any other thing I should know about the car? What about the maintenance-costly?

This is altezza nice to own 1?

Thank you all of you for your advice.

depend to how u drive,normally our beam engine use semi or fully oil around 5.5 liter and gear box oil use ori toyota oil every 20 thousand km,rm 110 can go almost more 400 km in city,0 to 100 km around 12 second or 15 second but top speed more faster,max 180 km,if u want drive more 180km use HKS speed cut or other ECU.year 1999 around 80k is ok depend the condition car also,ori rim is 17 inch and rear wheel car,good for travel.....car year 98 or 99,u should check timing belt,4 pc tension,water pump,radiotor,wheel axel and bush,:nurse:

I'm still hunting for the right tezza for me. Just a question to you guys. You all should have noticed the code in front of your Beams motor. ie; G1, G2, G3 or G4. What does the code mean? Are the internal parts of the motor different with each other should they have different code?

From what Ive gathered it means:

G1 = 6mt (98 - ?)
G2 = Auto (98 - ?)
G3 = 6mt (year ??
G4 = auto (year??
G5 = 6mt (year??)

oh i see.. so that means the code doesn't matter so much. after all they are still BEAMS, rite. :proud: another thing, how do you guys define low kms in a car. coz i've searched many altezzas and a bit worried if the kms already in a figure >60k kms. of course the salesman would say that those cars they are selling are well maintained, but we wouldn't know. would the kms figure effect the car price siginificantly?

just go for it bro leman...very hard to buy Altezza nowadays. hehe...doesn't matter about the mileage or year.. let your kepala pening later...:biggrin: bought mine..'98 model...mileage was about 140k++ km at that time..condition is still good until today...only minor parts need to be replaced..normal wear n tear...:burnout:

thanx bros. me become pening already :banghead:. altezza will always be my preference :love:. however, if i cannot find a right one, i might opt to caldina gt-4. but i heard those caldina are hot nowadays. many caldinas 'kena kopak' lately. some more, price still way too high for a sport wagon.

by the way, i noticed there is a button "traction control OFF" under the cd player slot. what is the function of that button? only some altezza come with this button. mostly don't have one. how important is that? :confused:

Traction is the grip that your car’s tires have on the road, which is needed to accelerate, turn and brake. If your car, or more specifically, your tires have little or no grip; your car will not accelerate, turn or brake and will skid. Traction control devices in the car will help prevent this loss of grip so your tires will have traction to accelerate, turn and brake. Hope this helps! Cheers!

Does that mean all Altezzas even without this "traction OFF" button come with traction control? How about the LSD? Mind my limited knowledge about this. Is this funtion equivalent to Electronic Stability Control tlike they have in other manufacturer cars? :hmmmm:

Not all Altezza's come with Traction control, as it is an optional accesorry in Japan. It all depends on the previous tezza owner in Japan whether he opted for it when he/she bought the car, same goes for LSD as well. A limited-slip differential is a differential designed to route some power away from a free-spinning wheel to the opposite wheel on the drive axle. As for Electronic Stability Control, Stability control helps keep the car in control during a skid or slide. It uses sensors to determine when the vehicle starts to veer off its path by looking at the steering input from the driver and the actual path of the vehicle. After sensing a skid, the computer can apply the antilock brakes to one or all of the wheels to keep the car pointed in the direction you want. It may also cut engine power if the computer determines it will keep the vehicle in control. In contrast, traction control’s purpose is to limit wheelspin during acceleration. It does this by applying the antilock brakes to the drive wheels only when slip is detected. Just like stability control, it can also cut engine power if you get overzealous with the throttle. Just about every manufacturer has a different name for its stability control system. Some can be rather ambiguous, such as Ford’s AdvanceTrac, but they all pretty much perform the same purpose and include the word “stability” or “control” somewhere in the name. BMW calls its “Dynamic Stability Control.” Hope that helps....
