gauge meter

Supra, I think mechanicals are accurate too. Just that it's old tech but lasting.

Ya bro, cuz price not much difference, slight few puluh bucks differences. But some are the LED type but I still prefer the needle type. Looks better actually.

got mine 2nd hand... but price differs on gauge type... can be ard 300-450/pc depending on the type....

but i say bang for buck coz it lasts... gives pretty accurate readings... and has a warning buzzer.

and i say accurate coz of my water temp meter.... my fan switch is at 90deg.. and when water temp hits 90deg... fan switches on :top::top::top:

also, u dont need a separate control unit like defi... its built in...and the packaging comes with the stand and everything else u need

So it seems if mechanical one is accurate then is okay to get one. Cuz i read they said the one with eletronic sensor is more accurate. There aren't any particular lifespan on this right?

lifespan? dunno la... my gauges are about 2 years old i think... from ex-owner to me... total about 2 years... so far working fine... only problem i had when i bought 2nd hand was the oil temp sensor wires practically putus already... luckily was able to get it fixed... but i think this is due to improper handling rather than product quality.

Generally gauges last a long time unless poor quality ones. Try to use sun shades when park direct under sunlight.

works cost around rm250,got my egt for rm340 and for oil pressure around rm280,
and also sandwich adaptor for oil pressure for rm80.if iam not mistaken.

Happy with the gauge.ermmm not that happy, the oil pressure not consistent after a hard press.

Better add lil more money and buy shadow. Heard better review of it.

Shadow price almost the same as works and autogauge?

Any feedback on autogauge gauges?

btw, shadow u guys buy from where?

My SARD .. Traditional mechanical gauge.

Hmm... perhaps let me eleborate more. Mechanical or electronic meters also depends on what you're measuring. Here is my understanding:

Mechanicals/Electronic
- Boost Meter
- Vacuum Meter
- Cabin Thermometer

Electronic Only
- RPM
- Air/Flow
- Exhaust Temp
- Oil Temp
- Water Temp
- Oil Pressure
- Voltage
- Rev/Speed
- etc.

Meters that read the signal from a sensor, must be a electronic guage. Cannot be mechanical. Hope this gives better understanding. :)

This type is mechanical or with electronic sensor type? Dunno how to differentiate. All looks mechanical to me since have the needle lol.

Thse with needles isn't neccesary mechanical. But digital guages must be electronic cos it will need to convert the signal to digital numbers for reading.

Thanks bro. :adore: Digital ones would look nice on cars with digital speedometer. But still prefer the needle ones no matter what

i saw some cheap defi/greedy EL/BF series....

but mostly saw for boost, water temp, oil temp and voltage...looking for a/f ratio as well if anyone knew whether those series got a/f ratio meter as well??

not nice ler if got array of same meter later only got one "black goat" that different from the rest

A/F meter is more complex than boost/temp/volt meters, hence production cost is higher. So that's why cheaper imitation ones do not make them. Just buy originals, more expensive but it lasts and best of all, accurate readings.
