German tuning firm G-Power has taken the cloak off the fastest SUV in the world, the Typhoon RS Ultimate V10 that is based on the BMW X6 M but powered by the venerable high-revving V10 lump from the E60 M5.

The tuning house calls this their tribute to the outgoing V10 engine that was exclusive to the E60 M5 and E63/E64 M6 models.

A tuning firm wouldn’t be a tuning firm if it just dropped in the V10 powerplant and called it a day, so the G-Power boys bumped up the displacement to 5.5-liters and beefed up the internals with Mahle forged pistons, a seven-bearing crankshaft, stronger connecting rods and piston pins. Forced induction is courtesy of two ASA T1-316 superchargers and compressed air duties being handled by an intercooler.

A tweaked ECU commandeers all the parameters to push out a whopping 888hp and 870Nm of torque.

G-Power’s own six-speed manual gearbox sends the power to the rear wheels as the xDrive all-wheel drive system has been dropped, presumably being too complicated to mate with the V10 lump. The century sprint is dealt with in a measly 4.2-seconds with top speed standing at in excess of 330km/h.

Styling has never been a strong point of the tuning house and over-aggressive styling is the order of the day. High-performance Michelin tyres wrap 23-inch Silverstone RS wheels for traction while the interior features four individual carbon fiber sports seats, with the reat of the cabin being privy to the lightweight material’s benefits as well.

Exclusivity is the name of the game and fortunately, the carnage is only limited to five units.
