Hi gurus,

I'm curruntly using a stock FD ECU. Did CO check and found out my FD is running on very rich side on idle. Did smell some feul during idle but no black smoke thou.... I do have a exhaust temp and on normaly driving the temp show about 600d.

Any idea why my FD is running rich? Could it be my car is not fully warm up when the test was done?

*FYI my FD ECU printed a big code "N3A7", dont see any Mazda wording, but I did see a "Denso" wording.

Check your TPS behind throttle body. It is within a specific range. Goto robrobinnete's website for more info. The strangest part could be that you are actually running lean. Petrol fume smell is strictly subjective way of determining. I had the same issue and always thought it was running way rich but when i dynoed the car it was actually running lean.

I would suggest a trip to s dyno with proper wideband o2 sensor. What are your mods?

Your ecu is correct. There is no mazda markings on it.

I actually did the CO test, which is something like an emission test where they stick something into the exhaust pipe and the results turn out to be rich. That's how I got to know Im running rich....

Will try to check out the TPS....

Nope, not special mod, perhaps only 2 HKS open pod air filter... That's it. The filter is kinda dirty thou.... Any effect? :(

Just out of curiousity, althou at outside the ECU casing is showing a stock ECU, could it be inside the component is re-chip?
