hi mate,

i'm thinking to get one E36 318i. can anyone here share the knowledge for me.

what is the maintenance cost look like? what is the price for the E36 right now?

i found a few E36 on thestar.com.my. they come with a "auto n manual" which is the better? is auto gearbox give alot of problem? heard the E36 have alot of problem on the water temp problem.?

Hope can get more understand before i go for the E36..

Thank for your reply..

E36 318i comes with 2 different engine....
M40 and M43

M40 is the older engine using timing belt
M43 is newer using timing belt.

Maintenance for the 318i is pretty ok. not much hassle...

If you can, get the M43 with manual gearbox. Those shud be around year 95... The 318i manual is fun to drive plus manual box gives less hassle compared to autobox given its age...

alternatively, you can seek advice from the bmwclub ppl...
