I'm using 16x9 ( rear ) and 16x8 ( front ) wheel with SP2000 rubbers but the front 225x16x55 got wheel lips whereas the rear are not.

The result.....

I hate it more that I like it...even the car now ride lower with KW suspension.

Spacers
========
The car not fitted with any spacers....so..will fir it make looking good ?

Even Lower
========
This option will make me spend RM3k by using Titan suspension ( adjustable ). So a damn low E34 with 16 looks any good ?

Wider tires rears
===========
Currently I'm using 225x55 tires at rears.....wit no wheel lips protector ( dunno what to call it )......anyone ever saw 235x55x16 rubber out there ?

Trash the wheel get 17's
=================
Spotted a very nice staggered 17x9 + 17x10 RDs but priced 3.2k for used wheel. I always put 17s wheel upgrade as the last option since I'm using B20 engine....with 126 horses to pull 1700kg saloon is..............gaz guzzler

Most likely I'll pick titan upgrade first then 17s.....any suggestion ?

Wow.. you got lots of $$$ to blow eh? Titans are a better option and 17" on a 1.7tonne car? Hope you planning on upgrading your engine capacity :D Besides.. aren't 17's a little big for a E34? Dunno. personal opinion.

Got pics for your car? It sounds like one helluva chun car from your description

bro,

dump the m20, get the m50b20......seriously u cud get it cheap since most upgrades from those to b25...i bet there r alot lying around in wshop waiting to be picked up cheap2.....~1.5k to 2k (engine kosong+wiring)

at least it is more efficient...while at it, cud always work on the mechanical efficiency (cyl & piston prep), thermodynamics (tuning), compression & exhaust system.

Such a big car, I would personally opt for the bigger wheels. The cheaper option would be using spacers + using wider threads at the back and see how does it look. Post up a pic, maybe some ppl can give some ideas.

On the engine side, I prefer M20 over M50 for some reasons...maybe I've seen thausands of modded m20 rather than m50

My plan is get a full M20b25 engine and later upgrade to b.27 using eta parts.

If I upgrade to 17s..I've sacrifice the power...unless someone want to exchange BBS LM forged 17s with my super heavy 16s Hartge :)

your hartge is heavy????...my 3-pc hartge is light (compared to my ex mille miglia)...but its 15" though

I would not recommend spacers to be installed on BMW. 17" is not harsh at all for E34, I am on 17 x 8, 235/45/17 tyres and to me, the appearance is just right and ride comfort still acceptable.

If you want, you can try 245 or 265 tyres on the rear to fit the 9J rim, but it will hard to find these sizes for 16".

Sometimes, the tyre sidewall/shoulder design can make the sidewall appear "slim".

For rubber with nice sidewall, I prefer Toyo Trampio.....

Nice car up there, care to share :
- bodykit type & cost ?
- wide grill conversion cost
- superblack type & cost

Bimmer must in black

bazet,

Very clean car you have there but the 16" doesn't seemed to be holding in place. IMHO, i would go for the 17".... hehehe :P

OSFlanker,

Nice ride dude. Tint it to black and you got urself a bad mafia car. keke

Body kit is non-ori lah - hard to find and expensive too. So make do with fibre from Subang SS19 - RM950 for front, side & back (M5, painting not included)

Wide grill not converted but ori as my car is 1995 model with Vanos. The black is cosmoblack, costs RM3,000 if you are changing colour, RM2,300 if spray outside only.

Back to topic - 17" is just nice for E34 though I think 16" is also not too bad. My Borbet rim is approx 9kg each, my old replica is 11kg!

bazet, to look good i'll advise u to spend the money on the wheels first. since you're complaining how it looks..

why don't u get new 18"s replicas? the replicas are so cheap now. then you'll be happy for at least another 6months..

you're car is low enough anyway.

yes bazet....replica can look good too. if u want a polished hamann replica 17", i know a guy who wants to let it go....currently on his e34

Yup replica can make your car look good, but looks will be all you get. I was on replica rims : it was heavy and i think the offset not 100% correct (some scrubbing during full turns) and also microleak.

Will ppl noticed I'm using E39 M5 replica ? The problem with me..I always like the original....nevertheless it's in really bad condition..but I'll opt it rather than replica....another problem of me...I only opt for staggered wheel....

Maybe I'll follow tom's suggestion..m5 replica.....
