ct9a problem

Well I think Mitsu has their little own device as well. But there is one little device that can read subaru, mitsu, merc and a few more manufacturers.

Mainly the device is looks at all your sensors, see if there is any problems, fault codes, fuel and air reading (but can't tune!) and then clean them up.

Don't know whether any other garage has them but as for me, I have an old reliable citoren and they have a devise to plug and check everything as well..

If I'm not maistaken. If your AYC is having problems, you can hear a whoo whoo sound when you are driving.

Furthermore, when you first put in the key before starting the car 3 lights will all come on and then left only a single light (either Tarmac, Gravel or Snow).

What I have experienced before is while putting in the key, all 3 light lights up and then a single one and once I start the engine, all 3 lights will appear.

So what I did was plug the devise in and then let the computer check everything and see whats the problem and then erase the fault code. After that, it doesn't happen anymore..

So if you guys are experiencing some problems, like idle, or ayc just plug the computer thing in and then see what it says before doing anything.

AYC will break down if you never flush is regularly or used a thicker oil (as our climate is dam hot comapre to Japan/Hk or Taiwan).

So remember, whatever oil you guys use, pls make sure its thick if not it will burn up pretty fast..

p/s I may be wrong in this but have seen some of my friends having problems with AYC and its not a good sight when AYC starts making sound..

limt,

there isnt any thicker oil for AYC.. its a standard ATF Dot-III auto tranny oil. The thicker oil you mentioned was for the rear axle, whereby Mitsubishi recommends 90W or above, and majority of you guys here are using 80W-140.

Transfer case? hoho.. that should cost bout 4k? + -......

u mean he disable the AYC function? Or HOW did he TAKE AYC OFF ? if no more AYC, then wats running the 4 WD system? Or has it become 2FWD only ?

when u disable the AYC, it does not mean that you dont have the 4WD system or even running on 2WD.... AYC and 4WD are both different gimmics.

erm in this case, do u mean from AYC it can change to mech. LSD ? But when AYC is not working properly, 4 WD is still working ?

hey guys, read from a us website evolutionm.net tt when u pull the handbrake, the AYC will automatically turn off. does this means that the car is now acting like a rear wheel drive? duno man.

yeah, by right there should be not be any sound heard when cornering...mine got no sound now

Des: Yup, we are all using the same for front and rear AYC and that goes for the engine oil as well. Reason being our weather is rather hot and lighter oil will not last that long. I think its a simple science answer, between hot and cold facts.

Currently no recommended gear oil yet as its rather expensive and hard to get in the market.

Me also have to start learning on cars again and pay more attention as 1) not much ppl can give a good service 2) not much ppl can trouble shoot a problem 3) Don't want the hassle to everytime go and pay the garage a visit

If we are in Japan, HK, taiwan or korea then its ok.

I have encountered a problem today and I acutally didn't know about it. Changed to a new tyre yesterday and did the usual alignment and camber (correct spelling ah) settings.

But didn't feel good driving it and went to the usual place most of our kawan goes and found out that the person changed my ORI MITSU camber nut and replace it with another nut.

1) Yes we can use the replacement nut but it will break if we go hard driving
2) Ori Mitsu or Subaru camber nut itself (front and rear) can be adjusted to different camber settings
3) Keep your ori camber nuts

In conclusion, luckly they kept the ori if not I will cry man and out of mu stupidity, have to be more alert next time cause me also don't know this exist in Mitsu and Subaru
