Cost of changing to B16A

btw shiro,i googling the net n find out some of them mentioning there's a bit different between dohc vtec cams for manual & auto....they quote that manual dohc cams hv double valve springs and more lift on vtec lobe....mind to share ur experience on this bro:itsme:
my frens said my engine use auto cams, so i thought, wats the big deal of it:hmmmm:

manual cams are a lil "wilder" compared to auto cams.... and if not mistaken the compression ratio is also different...

best person to ask would be akuma.. he used to have an EG9 B16A Auto which he fitted with manual cams...

yes ,i approve your opion

thats can be consider a lot difference dy:mad:
shud know bout this b4 but now its a bit late to change cams coz spend $ doing other mods...

manual cams do have higher lift. if u change, u definitely will notice the louder crossover. however, if u are going to change to manual cams, might as well go all the way out for a b16b or b18cr cams?

double valve springs? AFAIK, type R cams need double valve springs, not b16a's.

i do have 1 b18cr cams for sale.. HEHE!

haha nice marketing intro bro:biggrin:
seems like i had to start saving again now to buy those manual cams...pm me cams + valve spring + retainer price...if possible b16b cam:biggrin:

i only got b18cr cams =(

manual b16a cams are cheap, shouldn't go more than 200 bucks a pair, but labor is another matter.

afaik, b16a cams from auto to manual, not much labor. if u need to add valve springs and retainer then its a whole diff story.

icic thanks for ur info bro....coz i think of replacing the valve spring+retainer also is better compare of using the ori std b16a one...b18c & b16b cams diff at the intake side...

Integra Type-R(Through 1999 Spec)

Exh-235 dur. / 10.5mm lift

Valve Springs to be used: Stock B16A/GSR if using stock 8200 re-limit. Integra Type-R if using rev limit over 8200rpms...

sori to thread starter coz i misused ur thread:biggrin:
but i think it was gud for our info coz better u consider b4 u buy the hafkat:burnout:

so what other differences are there between a B16A manual and auto some more?
Can any1 help me out with that guys?
Cause I have a B16A auto engine and planning to project as well, so wana get some facts right and knw where to start from =)

the cams are different, and of course the gearbox. if u swap to a manual gearbox, ur b16a should be awesome enough.

if not mistaken the compression in an Auto B16A is also slightly lower than a manual B16A...

if u wanna do anything to ur auto B16A. changing to manual is a definite first step.

bang for buck combo (performance wise) would be stock B16A LSD gearbox with Type R clutch.

but id recommend going straight to the 98spec DC2-R gearbox (with minimum Type R clutch). the 4.785 FD would definitely make up for the B16A's lack of torque.

how much will a DC2-R gearbox cost? am sure its hard 2 find these days even so the price wud b quite high?
Am plannin 2 go super single tho XD
But meanwhile all these r jz plans =( still cant find the car yet, hehe

I use to drive b16a auto as well but already convert to manual ek9 gearbox. Acceleration and fuel economy will improve. Dont forget to change ur camshaft to b16a manual cam or type r cam and change the ecu to manual ecu.
