First and foremost, I am newbie with Honda stuff so I hope everyone here pls pardon my ignorance esp. with Honda related stuff. I was formally a Nissan driver but recently just converted to Honda.

I am getting myself a 2nd hand Honda City 1999 model, which is 1.5, auto transmission but it is not the Type Z model(which I heard it has D15B as its engine, issit true?)

Now, I am thinking of chucking a EK4 B16A into it, but still I would like to retain it as auto. So,

1) Is it possible?
2) If it is possible what are the expenses like?

Thank you.

I've heard of such conversions being done. But not very sure of the details :) Definitely requires mounting change to fit the engine and it's a tad tight I heard.

I agree with what Jackie said mountings cld be a problem some tuners may
not want to do it some may with additional cost involved.
You can get an auto tranny half cut for abt RM5.5K, Hattech a ZTH member is selling one. Good Luck:regular_smile:

JC Asia(Amoil) did a similar conversion recently...drop by and ask jacky....

i've seen a similar conversion at serdang on a silver city... owner was'nt there, but the pomen said, that mounting "banyak kerja" ooo... and the engine bay did look pretty tight...

every old model car confirm have to redo the mountings...heck mine have to do 3 mountings....for mountings..i prefer to do it in a reputable shop...not some under the trees...who knows...they might use Dunlop glue to stick them mountings to the chassis :P
