changing astina 1.6 to b8 engine n half cut shop. need help..

i drive mazda astina. i had couple of minds of changing my car to rx7 fc. but after much consideration. but i cant afford rx7 fc's maintainance n its fuel consumptions. so, i might think changing my astina heart to dohc 1.8 turbo. so, how much is b8 engine right now? n where can i find a good half cut shop?

there r 2 type of b8 turbo...1 is bpt 180 n bpd 210... both r 1.8cc..for 180, i think is around 5-6k for half cut n for bpd is around 10k... btw wheres your location?... as for 1.6cc, its better for you to find 2wd gbox that cost aroun 1.5-2 k...

bpt 180 is normal bpt engine producing 180hp at the crank, while bpd210 is derived from legendry mazda 323 gtr that producing 210hp and it is limited..all halfcut from this engine are 4wd n not as simple as other cars to lock.. thats why it is advisable to get other gbox such as tx3 1.8, 626, f8, b6t or lantis 1.8 to match the power produced n reliability n for the long term.. if the budget is an issue, u can still use the 1.6 gbox but it shud be modified to use 9" clutch from my experience from vr4..but it is ok if u dont do any modification to increase the power/hp cos it tend to slip on hi boost..

yes... it is killerbees.com.my ...you can surf in it cos we had a list of recommended workshop that we devide into region...as im in northern region i dont know much about KL .. happy surfing

based on what i've done in 2006, it cost me about 1.5k for workmanship (installation, aircond n minor exhaust work) it doesnt change much i supposed...i think you must prepare 10k for complete installation including all basic stuff (hcut+install+gbox+ware n tare part+ register+exhaust..etc)
