Car jerks when braking

I'm driving the latest Myvi 1.3 and of late, I am experiencing some braking problem/discomfort. Whenever I apply steady pressure to the brakes, the car jerks back and forth (like a rocking chair) until the car stops. The movement is obvious when I brake during downhill and it usually happen from around 60kmh onwards to stop position. I tried looking for symptoms on the net and some said it is due warped brake rotors. But my brake pedal and steering are not vibrating at all. So... does this still considered as one (warped)?

do u feel like the pressure on the brakes pedal going up n down?
None or maybe I couldn't feel it. Most of the pulsating movement (forward-backward motion) comes from the car.

To further add, the service centre did check the pads and ECU (ABS) and found them nothing wrong. I highly doubt it is the ABS since the motion starts when I am stopping from 40~60kmh or less during dry weather and my tires are still new.

at 60kmh...the rotors would be spinning to fast for u to feel the car rocking back and forth like sitting on a rocking chair...it would feel like juddering instead both for warped rotors or ABS engaging. have u checked the brake fluid levels? is the rpm stable during braking? i'm guessing yr driving an auto?

Yea, I'm driving auto. The RPM is stable during braking and I doubt it's changing to lower gear. As for the brake fluid, it should be fine since the service centre checked them and I did my service not long ago. Need to check again.

Best to make sure yourself as somebody i know who drives an alza, sent his for servicing at an authorized SC. and while driving back, got into a crash on the hiway. he said his brakes totally failed. he was checking around his crashed car n saw the brake fluid reservoir completely empty. the SC claims the reservoir was empty due to the crash but no leaks were found thruout the brake lines during repair work.

anyway...the logic would be the pressure applied onto the rotors is not consistent which would explain y u feel like its stopping and and not, stopping and not.

were u able to show the SC the rocking when braking?kinda hard to miss it right?

Freaky! I sent to the one by perodua and I am starting to lose faith in them after a series of calls back and forth on some other problems. I did inform them and they checked the brakes and what's not. In the end, I still feel the same.

Yea... It feels like there's an uneven surface between both contacts which causes the motion.

Try high speed braking see whether ur steering vibrates, if it does it could be warped. Like 120kmh hard braking.. Experienced from a 06 Myvi.

I'm quite sure this is a rotor problem.

If your car is under warranty keep pestering the SC or just write in an email to complain via their website.

If your car isn't under warranty you can try contacting a trusted mechanic or let me have a look at the car.

is yours auto? if yes, travel until 80kmh, put the gear to neutral & apply the brakes. if jerking still persists then something wrong with the brakes. if no jerking gbox problem.

That's erm... risky. But thanks for your suggestion. :)

I think you have problems with your power brakes

I've written and spoken to them (service centre and customer relation centre) countless times. The problem lies with time. They keep insisting on test driving (mind you, I've test drove with them more than 5 times for other problem including this braking problem) and they want to do so during weekdays (since technical specialists do not work on weekends /facepalm) whereas I am working during weekdays and I don't have time to do so.

Right now, this case has no outcome yet...

Yea, I've been trying to look for solutions.

Thanks for your suggestion. Will try to do so...

I think i have experienced such problem before...

If its a auto tranny, then most likely your auto tranny ATF (automatic transmission fluid ) is not sufficient.

Just check your ATF level and top up if its not sufficient...:listen:

simple to check ATF, warm up the car and leave it on, then can check already. fluid should be at medium level
if you guys said the rotors warped already then when braking should have felt the steering vibrate. i test drive a lot of rotor warped case before. as in your case... i haven't encountered one... on the safe side check the suspension if you can
