hi guys.. i need opinion from b8 turbo owner..
which gearbox performance is better with b8 turbo?
using b6 turbo gbox or 1.8 NA?
 
to me, I choose B6T gearbox for close ratio and of course, it's more harden than NA gbox..
 
some B6T didnt come with close ratio.
my old B6T it first 2 gear are short, but the remain 3 gears are very long.
i able to travel 3k rpm 5th gear with 120kmh.

about which one is better, is all depend on what u want to have.
close ratio of cos is good for drag, but for highway crusing u need a long ratio :)

for 1.8NA, make sure u get those from TX3 or lantis 1.8 early batch. but if i not mistaken, all of them should be short ratio.

recently i just get one lantis 1.8(m) install at my ride. after i finalise that it stable, then i will plan to sell my old B6T. if u interest PM me :)

a std mazda gb comes with few ranges choices.
the b6t fwd gearbox offers u short ratios. if it's along ratio, then it's not a b6t gearbox...unless modded already. 3rd gear offers u 140kmh at rev cut and i'm using a 17" rims with 215/45 series tyres. the 5th gear at 3000rpm constant is 95kmh.
the tx3 1.8/bp na gearbox is quite short too. 3rd gear a little longer at rev cut. maybe frens here can confirm at what speed. i will ask my younger bro driving a bpt in a tx3 sampan. the 5th gear at 3000rpm is about 100kmh. some says the tx3 1.8/bp na gearbox is a competitive gearbox.
the B6 dohc injection gearbox sourced out from Mazda BF series is not really competitive, meant to be more economical. 3rd gear is 155kmh at rev cut and 5th gear at 3000rpm is 110kmh. I'm using this gb now as my B6T cracked.
Not too sure about Lantis 1.8 gearbox performance...some says that it's just the same as the BP n/a & tx3 1.8 gearbox.

its true that ratios in the turbo gearbox is much stronger but all depends on the driving attitude. I'm just driving a bpt but i cracked my 3rd gear ratio and after that cracked the casing. but i had a good sweet 4 years with the gearbox b4 changing to the B6 injection...no choice, B6T fwd gearbox is hard to find.

tkk is one of the gearbox ratio sifus around.
 
thank you guys for ur info.. wat bout fuel? i smtimes travel long distance so what you guys recomend? my frens suggest b6t.. more power n harder...

to ondgennis - what differens u find out between 2 gbox? if ur old gbox dont have problem im very interested.. im pm u later...

i now also confuse is B6T or 626 1.6. but definately my one is long ratio, can travel 3k rpm 5th gear with 120kmh.

the main problem with the gearbox is there is no mount at the gearbox housing

old gearbox
1. good in highway travel
2. 1st, 2nd gear is short ratio but when u go to 3rd to 5th it a long ratio.
3. can feel the G at 1st, 2nd gear only if u running stock BPT
4. testd max speed 230kmh :)

new gearbox
1. very good in pickup.
2. very bad at high speed. 3k rpm 5th gear only 100kmh
3. because the ratio is so short, car seldom boost during normal drive

My brother's TX3 sampan BPT is using his TX3 gbox back in his BPT, 5th gear 3000rpm 100kmh, 205/40 ZR17 tyres.

i wonder if the gearsets from bpt gearbox can be placed into b6's and work as a front wheel drive
 
now im using 626 gaerbox and manage to do around 140 at 3.5k rpm... will the ori b6t gearbox have shorter ratio compare to the 626? sorry im noob here.. and i would love to know that is there any LSD gearbox that is suitable for a b6t engine ?
 
hehehe, if like that , mean 1k rv can run 40 km/h, then can run .................. wahhhh 320km/h!!!!!!!!!!!.......................if no wind resistance....
