best torque car

JK about the TD engine.

so, can we sum the Campro 1.6 as the best engine yet below 1600cc? 155Nm @ 4,000rpm the figure to beat.

Zan,
diesel by itself already stand advantage on torque. moreover its TC. On the other hand, that is the reason why i limit till 4000rpm as u see, vtec cna yeild much more torque but only happen in high rpm. Anyway im suprised to know Waja got more torque output thn Vios. The only thing i can think of why vios more lively due to body weight is much lighter thn Waja. If i was not wrong, Vios only weight around 9xxkg whereas Waja is 11xxkg

And the other reason is like what zan said earlier, the Vios has the better power delivery. The Campro on the other hand, is famed for its strange dodgy delivery.

A good example of how peak performance numbers never tell the whole story.

excuse me.. the so called CAMPRO engine sold in the market via G2, Neo and Waja does not have CPS and VIM. Its just a plain vanilla DOHC with a real engine name of S4PH for 1.6L and S4PE for 1.3L.

ok now we back to best torque topic for cars under 1600c.c.

campro = camping prostitute? hehehe

normality,
I ain't sure about this because I never had the chance to test out other year of manufacture, but satria 1.6 year 1995 (this is the first/second batch, I think) gives quite a bit of torque. Yet, I don't really know how much of a torque is considered good torque. hehehe I also never had other car enthusiasts try out my car in it's stock standard form but to me, it feels kinda torque-y. hehehe acbc has been in my car. Maybe he can comment on it? hhmm... *scratches head*

Nobody said it did.

I can even be so bold as to make the assumption that it is general knowledge on these boards by now.

well... you made the point. but for the sack of clarity some of us still uses the phrase "Campro" where referring to a S4P engine that without anything related to CAMPRO.

thats my point.

on my side of opinion, i have to agree i with Satria95 coz i drive a wira 1.6 and its quite a torquey engine. my family owns a 4G18 waja while mr wife is driving G2 1.6. so i know there really is a difference.

an engine would be considered good in terms of torque output when the max torque is reached at low rpm and the torque curve stays as flat as possible across the rev range.

which explains why BMW has come up with high performance of diesel engines. for example, if we put the latest E90 330i 6 speed and 330d 6 speed side by side, many would go for 330d.

Well, that's what its called, isn't it?

Not everyone talks in engine codes, my friend.

haha... yaya... thats the thing.

now the misleading of proton turned into an infamous legacy. :X-:

wats the wira 1.6 torque figure? talk abt it, i have nvr seen wira 1.6 dyno before. how heavy is wira?

myself not very sure about std 4G92 torque but between 4G92 SOHC, 4G93 SOHC and 4G63 SOHC has little difference in power output between them, so i believe not much difference in torque also.

4G92 SOHC = 113bhp
4G93 SOHC = 116bhp
4G63 SOHC = 118bhp
