Ya, so far so good. I was lucky, got this engine from a halfcut shop with only 67,000km on the odometer two years ago

Looking to try other brands of engine oil? :)

I'm not really picky about engine oil, as long as the viscosity is 5W40 full synthetic and it's sold by reputable shop or supermarket like Tesco. Too many reused/fake oil flooding the market right now.

I agree. If for normal use, a branded FS with scheduled OCI is good enough......:driver:

The year is 2016... make sure you choose something semi-synthetic at the very least.. engine oil has come a long way.. Motul is pretty reputable. Long distance trips with smooth traffic is actually the least strenuous on the engine.

Just back from Tesco Puchong...
Got Castrol Magnetec SS 10w-40 4L - RM99.90
Mobil Super 2000 SS 10w-40 5L - RM119
Mobil 1 5w-50 FS 4L - RM169
Elf 700 SS 10w-40 5L - RM99.90
Elf 900 FS 5w-40 5L - RM159

Yh..im from terengganu..got my car at selangor..work at sarawak..wisely visit brunei..now workplace transfered to johor..
I think im quite a traveller LOL

Your B series mileage is more than half a million km already, and still going strong :top:. Mine has only done 87,000km. I'm using Shell full synthetic 5W40. So far the performance is good and oil level is also ok.

im pretty sure that half million kilometer is not my current engine, could be the original engine before i installed current engine 2 years back..lol. The meter didnt reset even after engine changed. Well, this car is 20-years old this year.
BUT
Kinda happy with this engine's performance even its old too (dc2 halfcut)..run like a champ, just like youngster lol.

Work in JB can browse the prices in SG, but with the exchange so high, probably not worth also.....

Yup, my car this year is 21 years old including the engine (assuming its from 1995), still running strong. The good old days of the 90s

Yup,not worth it..my survey tell me singapore is 15-20% more expensive after money exchanged..unless u work at SG,its worth it..if no,dare not to.
