Average Wira 1.3 consumption

Hi All,

I recently measured my Proton Wira 1.3 (yr 2001) Fuel Injection consumption and found that it was way worse than i expected. 1 liter only takes me 8km.

Is this normal?
Are there any ways to improve the FC?

Nope...It's a stock car..nothing touched so far. My dad has been using it and I may take over now..

I find then when it is in an idle state the it keeps revving up and down though..could be something to do withi the throttle body? Could that be the cause?

throttle body need thorough cleaning... check for leaks in ur intake manifold gasket and throttle body gasket...

If using siemens vdo rather than mmc ECU, it was like that.

so meaning to say it's better to use mmc ECU rite? how much will it cost for that? hehe

1. my current 11 year old wira aeroback, 2000 manual can get usually 420km and up to 500km (if conditions are right ie 90km on the highway etc) on a "Full" Tank, cycle ie 12.7km to 15km to one lt of fuel.
2. the rev up and down when idle state mean Its going to cost u money in repair and fuel, My mechanic say it has some thing to do with the tuning / fuel injection unit he did a "small" repair for me - (change some plastic gears) for a "temp" job which cost me around RM300 I think "cannot remember", if have to replace whole unit he said some thing like around 1K ......
3. To get better fuel comp, let just say train your right foot, to be very light, keep at 80-100kmph, ..... there are may tricks out there. just google it up as see what fits you.

that plastic gear at throttle cost u part n labour rm120+/- oni. he charge rm300??? crazy ah?

as i said "cannot remember" but that day i paid around RM300 for all the work done. the plastic gear and other .... (thanks for telling us the fair market prize) ;-)
