Please... I am in Sabah and looking for a manual gearbox for my AE111. My reason for swap is:
1. I am used to driving manual all my life... I love it and it is fun. I don't really enjoy auto.
2. The nature of my job requires me to drive a lot. the slightly higher fuel consumption of the auto
gearbox is not very suitable for me.
My gearbox has no problem. No leaks on torque converter, no clutch slippage, shifts gear on time and gives decent acceleration. It even has a lockup clutch that activates at 80km/h to save fuel.
Like I said, my reason is that I want to drive back a manual transmission. And I would like a more economical gearbox. I am not saying that my auto is thirsty. It is thirsty for me because of the amount that I drive. But if you compare it among auto cars, it is more or less the same. RM70 on my 1.6 litre engine gives 330km on 80% city drive. It is nice to drive auto if you don't drive too much (i.e weekend drive). You won't feel the pinch of the fuel. I need manual because I drive around 70km per day average.
In Kota Kinabalu Sabah only... Call me if anyone id serious about it. You can test it on my car before deciding. Swap gearbox for gearbox. No charges. But we are to bear the cost of fixing ourselves individually. I know w place where they can do it for a reasonable price and good quality.
