The Ford GT40 is indeed a rare car no matter where in what country you are in. Even in a country with lots of import cars (due to low/zero tax), the GT40 is a very rare sight. To put it appropriately, this American V8 legend is a sight to behold.

So when my friend Zahid bumped into this gem, he instinctively approached the owner to arrange a photoshoot since the chances to bump into one of this classic is almost next to nothing. As though it has been fated that Zahid is to meet with this GT40, the owner's residence is apparently 5 minutes away from Zahid and this photoshoot was done on his (Zahid's) way to class.

The owner imported it from overseas into New Zealand in one piece. It was made known by the owner that this car is actually a replica, although not an exact replica as this car resembles 90% of what original GT40 has.

The '40' figure in GT40 is actually the height of the car roof from ground in inches. Basically the original GT40 is 40inches from the ground to its roof. However, this replica GT40 is a few cm higher than the original.

The owner certainly has high taste in owning cars as most of his car is very rare and classics. This is only one of his 8 cars in his awesome garage (more on that soon).

Not to be confused with the newer Ford GT (the one that TMJ owns), the original GT40 is rarer than the latter version. Some people rather call this version of GT40 as the Mark 1 while the newer Ford GT is known as the Mark 2.

We'll finish this article with some rolling shots! Hope you guys enjoyed the post.
