Ford will be bringing an army of tuned Fiestas to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in November, including a 350hp example that should blow the lid off the hot hatch segment.

“SEMA represents a special opportunity, because we can show off unique designs that other companies have created. It's not just Ford coming to the table. It's other companies interpreting what Fiesta is, and bringing their own style to the Fiesta launch,” said Sam De La Garza, Fiesta brand manager.

We’re sure the independent tuner Fiestas are every bit as impressive but the limelight will surely be on Ford’s own tuned version done by their in-house Racing Performance Division. This Fiesta has been fitted with a production-based 2-liter EcoBoost turbocharged engine that has been enlarged to 2.3-liters, bringing output to a whopping 350hp.

Reigning in those 350 American thoroughbreds will be Brembo brakes and a set of Ohlins dual-flow valve dampers. Keeping shifts quick will be a short-throw shifter and aFord Racing exhaust system keeps the engine exhaling smoothly. Lastly, 17-inch cast-aluminium wheels will be at the four corners, keeping the Fiesta and its 350 ponies pointed where the driver intends it to.

“The goal of our 350-horsepower Fiesta is really twofold – first to reinforce Fiesta's fun-to-drive nature with an extreme version that captures the attention of the influential enthusiast, and second, to introduce the Ford Racing/EcoBoost connection in a way that's unexpected and outrageous,” said Mickey Matus, Ford Racing Performance group marketing manager.

The Fiesta will be unveiled at the show in a shade of blue painted by an as of yet unnamed artist. Ford intend to see some good come out of the project and are planning to auction the car in the future to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
