Hi guys,

wanna ask what happen to my fan.
My fan stops working when the weather is hot like in the afternoon stop at traffic light or when engine under high usage like going up genting highlands.

Is it theromostat 'ko' already?

fan not functioning might be caused by fan motor kaput or fan controller relay kaput. get someone to swap with(fan controller) then u know which one is wrong.

Maybe he see the temperature high he thinks fan not working? because he mention hot weather and going up genting so engine under stress.....

even tho you go up genting or traffic jammed, it was not suppose to be high temp. if it goes high temp., then there's something wrong with the cooling system. either it is not functioning or not efficient. cos if just finish fighting with my car's temperature issues.

actually the fan controller kaput long time d.. mean i start engine, the fan automatically turn on..
under normal run, the fan is working well..
a few times the the fan suddenly stop working when i was waiting for the traffic light in the hot afternoon..
then the temperature just shoot up...

by the way, the temperature shoot up close to the red line d..
so i stop my car beside and check, the fan is not working..
after let it cool down a while, the fan start running again when turn to 'ignition'

Check the wiring, connections and earthing. Sometimes, the electric can sot-sot.
My car's cooling fan is prone to stalling fan due to loose connector. When this happens, I check the connectors and rectified the problem instantly.

It's the fan controller. It goes bad like 9th/10th year if you're lucky. Most of us have modified using temperature sensor to activate the fan.. .like 90c or so, the fan runs only 1 speed - high speed or when the aircond is ON.

Also check your fan motor. It may be able to run but it runs too slow. Best is you upgrade the entire cooling system. Get bigger radiator, new fan and the fan controller.

mine the fan burned down due to position very near the turbo. so the fan melt so does the controller short circuited. so i have to buy new fan and new controller. then find out my thermostat jammed. i take it out first.. later can get the low temp one.. shit happens..

Just go to Ah Wah, he'll modified the 'fan controller' like I said. I upgraded everything including the radiator, peace of mind and car runs cool (85c) even during hot hot afternoon jams.
