yup, A1 Team Malaysia did a superb job on the car for the weekend.
Alex topped the practice session on friday...
then qualified 6th on the grid..
sprint race in 4th...
and finally a podium in feature.

He was really attacking all the other drivers in the circuit. Excellent stuff.
Well done and congrats!

doink : i think a1 all using same machine ... and nations compete instead of car manufactuers ....

what is the different between A1 and F1?

A1 and F1 is a totally different racing series.

In the very first place, A1 cars are a lot less powerful then F1, only about 500 to 600 HP as compared to F1 cars which can be touching 900+ HP. And then all the A1 cars have similar engine and the amount of modification done to the engine is very minimal. This will ensure driver's skills are more important than car.

In A1, teams that are competing are actually country and each country is represented by their own national. Unlike F1 whereby teams can sign just any driver.

Also, A1 cars have something called power boost whereby when needed, the driver can press a button to activate some device that'll boost the power output of the engine momentarily. This will enable overtaking but its only limited to like 8 shots of power boost.

The difference is very big, maybe you can read up on some website but generally this is it.

A1 cars are less powerful and the best part is they have 8 shots of NOS at the start of each race, and they arent as serious about the race as F1

Yeah la quite the proud. Honestly.

If you guys follow a bit, I seem to notice that we are the one of a few SouthEastAsian team performing within the top ten.
Not to mention, points wise, were running alongside developed countries, of course not racing history countries, but still. Nice.

That said, those who watched it, did Alex bump Team Netherlands by accident? quite dubivous ler... last few laps some more. kekeke but never the less, Podium finish is still a podium finish.

Finally, F1 and A1 MILES apart...... I mean, if you watch A1, the number of cars that go off 4wd and still jump back into the race is awesome..... kekekekeke..... much more spectator appealing, if you ask me.

netherlands sure pissed on him dy, both of them actually contacted n he spun off.. lucky alex, slow down to avoid further contact otherwise his car also 'kaboom' dy :X-:

well, at least he can achieve sum good result in A1 la.. in F1 he was like, sigh.. need not me to say more :mouth_closed:

seriously..today's race was very very entertaining..clipping, rubbing, squeezing, cucuk angin, pancung..all got..hehehe

OK OK. For more info, pelae check here....

A1gp.com.

Points wise, we ARE no 9. The ONLY SEA country within top 10.
Ok ok maybe the other countries cant be bothered about this sport... but it still says a lot about consistency of the team.

man... I'm starting to sound like a patriot.... kekekekekeke.

There is no NOS in A1.. its only ecu control to release extra power... if not its limited... and about difference between A1 n F1.. hell if u are seeing for overtaking.. watching a1 much more fun.. why ... its really depends hell alot of the driver.. there no traction control and alot of electronic aids like F1 does have... so its hell alot more challenging on the drivers side.. where else F1 from what i see its more of an endurance of the body now... cause top machines are actually close very closely match that most of the time its down to the pit stops.. over taking are very difficult... just my point of view...

anyway finally alex yoong did something to make us malaysian proud.. yes.. good for him n good for us

Would Ferrari or Mclaren or perhaps Renault eyeing Alex Yoong for their driver ? Pray for that ! Congrats Alex ! Finally u got on podium ! Would like to see u in F1 action really soon !

I think we are top in ASIA, not only SEA.

Proud proud proud...

That was one hell of a race. Not a bad way to spend my whole sunday afternoon. U get more overtaking in that race than a whole season off F1.

At the end of the featured race I was like go and bump that canadian like he did on alex on the sprint race.

A well deserved podium. Majulah sukan untuk negara !!!hahahah
