Newbie here. Probably have been discussed before, but cannot find the thread. The 4G91 gang discussion has various topics, difficult to find.

The situation: Saga 1.3 year 91. Due to complete overhaul, no aircond. My estimation: RM 2K++ to repair to it's original state (engine overhaul + aircond). I was looking for 4g15, but the chopshop here don't have it (Bintulu). They say if they have, price 1.4k easily (demand quite high). So, exploring other options.

Heard people put 4G91 into saga. How is it? Here, the price less than 3k (not sure exact). Basically, I would like to know, for the installation, what need to be install, what have to reuse, etc (dashboard, meter, aircond, power steering, gb, absorber+spring, drive shaft, suspension etc). I think for wira is easy, can install everything, but not sure Saga. Of course, currently manual gb. Is it wise to go for manual (reuse or not) or auto.

TQ.

I'm planning to do a major upgrade to this car. I aim is, actually to save money, as much as I can, both on the repair/upgrade and fuel (currently using wira 1.5 auto, you probably know how this car drink fuel). Since the car need to be overhaul , and I need to do the AC as well (1.3K++ + 0.6K ++ for ac,~2k already), that's why I'm thinking of putting 4G91 into it. Heard the fuel consumption is ok, power also ok. Plus, it would be a good upgrade for the car , 1.3 -> 1.5 . The cost of upgrading maybe slightly more, ~3.5k, but I think it's worth it. However, I heard that JPJ will not approve this conversion now, is it true?

Helo bro...i'm telling this cos i'm using 4G91 auto in my proton saga...previous engine was 4G15P Auto....just install it last year, August...!!! Hmmm...d engine+installation cos me 3K+1.5K....but i sell back my engine & got 1K back..!! The engine itself can fit into saga..d only modi ur mech will do was the both center mounting...u cant use d ... dashboard, meter, absorber+spring, drive shaft, suspension...all this u have to reuse d saga 1....if ur mech good surely he know what can use & cannot..!!! About d JPJ....just ask d runner 2 do it for u...mine i pay RM250..!!

Oh....1 more thing...if u oredi install this engine...better u change d stock 1 extractor into 4x2x1 extractor (4G93)...cos u might have problem when its came 2 servicing d engine...very hard to change d oil filter....the space is to tight..?? Mine just change to d 4x2x1 extractor & now servicing no more problem...!!!!! Cheers man....
