Pls recommend new or used 2.0 cars below rm 100k

How's you Optra maintenance so far? Fuel Consumption bad?

I bought the optra in 2011 for only RM28k. It has been with me for 2 years so far maintenance is no problem. Only the normal wear & tear i.e. replace brake pad, spark plugs, fuel filter, battery, change motor oil & oil filter. I think it is a good buy for used car. However, whoever bought it brand new will curse the car cause it depreciate too much. I already use to owning a 2.0 cars for the past 10 years so the fuel is no problem for me even though it is a bit more compare to Japanese cars.

before the optra my ride was altis 1.8 year 2007. I like the beige leather seat and interior. Optra's interior also is beige leather seat. So I sold my altis for RM 77k and bought optra for only RM 28k. How much do I have saved and the ride is almost the same. Optra is better at cornering and going through speed bumps.

Haha! I say that cause it front look almost the same but the rear to me like using back the idea of this old accord design and reconstruct it from there. To me la.

Ya new one using SOHC engine also for the 2.0L. 2.4L is somewhat go green engine for better fuel consumption. Earth Dreams Technology.

Haha, you are so right about the picture. Agreed, the front of the new Accord looks nice to me but the rear design seemed to be a bit of a backward step instead.

Now Honda's approach is so different from what they do during the 90s. The emergence of the VTEC era. One thing that I've read about the new Accord is that they still retain the torque converter automatic for a more involving driving experience than going for CVT. I don't know how true is that statement or whether is it just because of costs reasons.

That's a lot. Should be a good buy then. Accord wont be as hot cake as Vios I guess due to the price range is higher.

but VTi has no value as its fabric seats compared to VTi-L (leather seats).
VTI-L only a few k's discount.

But their hybrids all use CVT. Jazz, CR-Z and Insight...

CVT is just like a running rubberband. And it's expensive to maintain as well.

Unfortunately you're limiting yourself to just 2.0 cause IMHO D-segment cars like Accord/Camry/Teana/Mazda 6 with 2.0 N/A engines are just hopelessly underpowered. If you're ok with the road tax (almost rm900), you should think about getting 2.5ltr car for this size, then I'd suggest to buy first gen Toyota Mark X (GRX120).

If still just want to stay with 2.0, then IMHO stick with C-segment cars like Altis or Civic, but of course would not be as comfortable as Camry or Accord.
