Saga BLM Braking Power

hi bro,
i got similar problem like u. change alot of brake pads metal king la, street racing la and this and tat. doesnt solve the problem. finallly managed to find out the problem lies in the brake booster.
not sure if this info helps but do check it as well

Pm you the address already. Let us know whether he can find the fault or not.....

Received ur PM.

Brake booster?

Mind to elaborate more?

Brake booster is the vacuum servo (Black thing at your brake pump) . I did mention how to check on it earlier.
With engine off step on the brake pedal until it cannot go down anymore, then start the car (free gear of course). Once the car starts the brake pedal should go down a little more when the servo beings to work....

Well, it does go down after start the car. But just doesn't know how to justify the servo is working fine or giving problem.

Going down after start means should be working. I think best to let the mechanic look it over....

Last week my mechanic advise me change pad. Now changed then same.

:banghead::banghead::banghead::confused::confused::confused:

Let my mechanic take a look first. Pads better not change anymore as the CT pads with titanium stripe bites immediately. If not, something else is wrong....

I believe the pad as well. No more changing pads.

If cannot then really have to burn it off.....

Sounds like period only that BLM...keep changing pads....:banghead:

How to justify the master pump is giving problem?

Usually when you press the brake, there will continuous slowing down of your car and you adjust the pressure you put on the brake pedal to incr/decr brake pressure.

When I had the master pump problem when my foot start pressing the brake pedal, the car would slow down initially (like at the first touch of the pedal) and then when you continue to increase pedal pressure (eg: approaching a road bump), there would be no braking effect. Braking effect would come when the brake pedal completely touching the floor.

And according to my foreman, master pump problem quite common to Myvi. However I am not sure for Saga BLM.

just some pointers for you koh.

2. open your bonnet and have a friend to press the brake pedal firmly and hold it...then you check the master cylinder area to check for leaks, also the brake caliper are and the rear drum cylinder area . If there's no leak but the brake pedal is still sinking down it could be your master cylinder internal O-rings are leaking brake pressure.

Refer to below diagram

Not necessarily. Vehicles with ABS system will naturally cause the brake pedal to sink down slowly.

Bro., Brakes in good condition does not have the pedal sink to the floor. If you have that, something is wrong, for example your master pump problem, leak in the brake system and so on....

Not necessarily. Vehicles with ABS system will naturally cause the brake pedal to sink down slowly.

Vehicles with ABS also will not have brake pedal sink down. To activate ABS, one have to slam or brake hard to lock the wheels then ABS takes over. Most of the time, you will feel some shuddering or steering wheel vibration when ABS is working....

Koh, i suggest you check your brake pump like what I posted in pg.2 of this thread. IF the brakes don't bite even you using common pads then is your brake pump not giving enough pressure..

Thanks for the suggestion.

Suspecting the pressure regulator now. Finding the suite time to change & try how is the result.
