It would appear that the first criteria of the logistics manager for the Lexus LFA would be positive for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Well that or Lexus is really living it up to their tagline of ‘The pursuit of perfection’ because this is probably the most anal delivery of a car ever.

Not only does it come with a personally signed note form the quality control inspector back at the factory, the hypercar has its own semi-truck for the delivery to the showroom.

Understandably, the LFA is a rolling platform meant to showcase the pinnacle of Toyota’s technical prowess in building a car so going a little overboard with the delivery would be expected but race car transporters and specially designed platforms to be bolted onto is pushing it a little.

The shots of the first three LFAs to be delivered to the USA are courtesy of the Kaizen Factor blog. It details the process of the cars arriving in their respective containers and then being inspected before they’re shipped off to the dealers.

Each of the 500 LFAs will be transported to the country of the owner in a special vehicle box on a custom designed platform to which the car is bolted onto. Most cars are wrapped in plastic during the delivery process to protect against chipping and debris but the LFA is shipped bare for the paint to cure properly.

The platform is then carefully unbolted and removed from the box before the LFA itself is unbolted from the platform and inspected by a technician. The white-gloved technicians carefully reconnect the battery and give the car a once over to ensure all systems are functioning.

The cars are then driven into the car transporter that is used for high end or specialised race cars- again, one car a transporter- and is delivered to the respective dealership that ordered the car.

And you thought that your Camry being wrapped in plastic and having wheel protectors upon delivery was quality service.

after all this OCD shipment, the car might be sent to 17 year-old billionaire's spoil brat and t-bone it to the phone pole, or sink it in the lake to avoid pelicans..pfft..i'm just jealous.. :)

Wish they made a sportcar version of this instead of HYPERCAR status ... a cheaper but still fast version for all to enjoy :)
