It's a matter of taste. I prefer A45 too cos it comes with luxury, comfort and performance. Not too hardcore but fits for old man like me. My personal opinion for the new Type-R, it geared towards enthusiast hardcore drivers who purely put driving experience as first priority. :)
I prefer the A45 because it's simply the better car, faster, AWD, much better looking and classier, more prestigious (it's an AMG man!), but certainly not because more mature! The only good thing about the Civic Type R is the manual gearbox, that's it!

Comfort is not something that goes along with the A/CLA Class. One of the most jarring ride I've ever driven in, especially the 45AMG.

A45 AMG is not meant for comfort to begin with. I think though it can be improved a bit by downgrading the rim/tire size from 19' to 18' as for the base spec A45. If not mistaken the later version (with 380HP) got some improvement in this area too. Tom should be able to provide more comment on that as I believe he had tested them all.

I've driven the A200 Elegance (pre facelift and facelifted), A250 with the Sport suspension (facelifted) and an A45AMG (pre facelift).
The A200 pre facelift was rather harsh but then the facelifted was still the same tho better control overall. However the A250 with Sport suspension is worse but of course it's still better than the AMG.
Kinda disappointed that Mercedes didn't actually make it more comfy (AMG) since the other AMG across the range are comfy as hell when they're not on Sport/AMG mode. I kinda expected it to be more.

I have never driven one before and do not plan for any test drive either. At least not until I am ready to buy that car. I do not want to get into a situation where I am dreaming about it day and night. If I get it now, I am forced to scarify my other interest which I am not ready to give up yet!

Saw one the other day on the road. Noticed the 5 series facelift rear looks beautiful.
I feel the opposite. I think the new 5 series is more "pondan" compared immediate predecessor in the rear. The old one looks thicker..more... manly whereas the new one looks sleeker, more aero feel to it..

But diff people will feel differently with design.

CLA45 over the A45. I think the A hatch just looks odd. And ugly next to the BMW 1 hatch.

Actually you SHOULD go for a test drive. That way, when you have a strong desire to get it, it will motivate you to work harder/think of ways to achieve it.

That's the same reason why I don't want to test now. I'll do that when I am ready for the car. Don't like to keep lingering on it. hehehee

Ya CLA45 looks better but more expensive too and just a tad heavier car.

Well I'm the opposite, I like the A class shape much better than the BMW 1 series! I just don't like the 1 series shape at all coz it's too much like a boxy short wagon shape. I like a hatch shape which have a smoother transition line from the engine hood, the windscreen, then to the roof from the side profile, not too much like 'a stair case step' or boxy looking as in the 1 series. The shape of the rear pillar of the 1 series also I don't like.

Last week’s Super GT, to simply summarize it in a few words, was totally fantastic. The cars were great, the chicks were stunning, and the crowd was overwhelming. And of course, the first two were no doubt the main attraction of the event. But sometimes it is not the main show that attracts the crowd. Since last year, where JPM took over the baton to continue...
