so all sifus, anybody out there who know any officer in the puspakom or who got experience who can help in this matter? the car belongs to a dsp police and the owner has taken the car back which the current location is in Klang.

pity u la bro.... all the hard work after conversion, now the car lives in the dark....
but, what does he mean by "need 2.0 body to fit 2.0 engine"??

that wira stock engine was 1.8L??.... shouldnt be a problem if convert to 2.0L mah.... if previously 1.6L convert to 2.0L might face a tough hill to climb lor...

or mayb, try ur luck and register in other state.... i heard different state has different strictness.....

it's almost impossible for 1.6 or below to convert to 2.0 now....the rules are more strict than b4....even my fren cant sell off his wira evo3...cos need inspection if change name of the geran.....so think properly if u really wan to endorse it..or just sell the engine away and use back the 1.8gsr....

bro... what jpj meant by 2.0 body is like perdana 2.0. thenonly can put evo 3 engine. anyway, even if u buy wira 2.0 diesel, no way u can convert to petrol. i ask before becoz got plan wana do that also. the current car is not mine. juz helping my mechanic to ask.

theres a forumer who recommended his runner to do for rm1500. but last time jinkl told me before that in klang can kao tim for rm850. so trying luck in klang first.

lately 1.5 can still go to 1.8. confirm. but 1.8 canot go to 2.0 anymore. anyway, if anybody can still offer some help or advise, i appreciate it a lot.

thanz

Proton 1.6L can never go to 2.0L anymore. I've got an inspection letter from JPJ Wangsa Maju and one of the officer asked how did I manage to get mine approved when the rule already said no more 1.6L to 2.0L. I got mine registered 1 year ago and that was when they're just about to implement the new rule. Maybe there are some runners that are able to do that, but take a step of precaution, check with the JPJ online status to see if your car is registered with the new engine before paying the runner. Roadtax can always be altered. :_:

Here's what i know..

You can only upgrade or maximize bout 25% of ur current engine to the next convertion.. nothing more than that..

Engine has to follow or must be from the same make or equivalent like
E.G: proton cars... engine proton/Mitsubishi 1.6proton/mitsu can convert to proton/mitsu1.8...

Cannot stuff in other make or models... like proton using nissan engine/toyota n etc.. And there's no such thing going step by step convertion like:
E.G proton 1.3 to 1.5, then 1.5-1.6,then to 1.8,then to 2.0 n continues..

its basically depends on the cars body n chasis strenght.. if it was born from factory as 1.3,it cant be converted more than what the chasis can handle.. usually can go bout 1.8 only the max.. if u r lucky... but still got to go to 1.5 then 1.6 then 1.8..

for 2.0convertion.. going 2 need a 1.8/2.0 straight from factory car.. like Putra,GTi,R3,Waja 1.8,perdana..

Guys... you wanna do it back door way is fine.. pay a few sums or find sum lobang... but REMEMBER.. the book says it all.. n this regulation is been implemented now.. for those who've succeeded with 1.3-2.0 or equivalent in previous years than no problems.. they cant kacau u much, since it was not implemented back then...

But new comers.. i dont advise for u to swap engine bigger than the car's capability... even though u can suap or use backdoor/lobang... eventually ur gonna get caught at roadblocks.. n when u do... they will start question u this n that... even if u got approval papers.. then they will crack down to find out more... u might have to go for inspection.. they might even impound ur car 4 investigation..

all that... Just for the sake of making it street legal when it is cant be done legally animore now..

just my 2cents

if u know your car sure kena JPJ at road block, and if u know u have all the legal papers eventho its illegal in the JPJ book of rules, and yet, you'll reach an ending which dont end, like what Luka have described...As i was just wondering, apparently, the pegawais go as they like wasting your time and money...The only thing i know is that, U duwan to go to JPJ inspection, and u duwan to promote bribery BUT u r a car nut, so how to solve?
