most probably they're using water-to-air intercooler instead of air-to-air intercooler. water-to-air intercooler is the most efficienct intercooler compared to the normal air-to-air intercooler. the intake temperature to the intake manifold can be almost the same as the ambient temperature...i wonder where the water-air intercooler is...cannot see from the picture, or maybe they don't use intercooler at all.....at 2.2 bar the air is damn hot that it can boil the water... :o

but dunnpo y he dun NOS that night..if he nos sure can win those skylines...
tony5050 u driving wat car that night?i was there..but forgot oredi...coz no announcement samore leh..i dunno when's semi,quarter and 1st 2nd round =\
i'm sure this GTi would preform better if got i/c loh...
oh btw..wats the red tank at the back of the gti???

yeah looks like no intercooler too, which i think is a bit silly. the only advantage of not having an intercooler is better response and less pressure drop. but when its a drag car which is wide open throttle constantly and a massive turbo running huge boost, surely the additional cooling outweighs the cons of running an intercooler.

btw, is visworks the same as vazmaz? waa confusinglah they all sound the same.
ya...how come got unichip if already using microtech?? i asked b4 but no one answered me. :( a bit funny to use stand alone then use an additional piggyback. \

could be water cooled. but its true, boosting high wif no intercooler might be worse than better. foo...mebbe u better lend them ur intercooler la. ehehehe.

visworks and vaz maz diffrent workshop. same state.

red tank - fuel cell.

US drag events allows tyre additives or softeners and a wide range of tyre manufacturers makes drag tyres for imports sizes...Nitto,BFG.

I Love the evo4 front !!...hmm...jpj kacau or not ar if wira use evo4 front?...hahaha

i think theres an intercooler down there judging from the small pics.The intake pipe still snaking under the front driver side.
 
haha ramsing i think we need to ask tom to verify got intercooler or not. but like you, i think there isn't any. maybe he's using nos to cool the intake charge :o

anyway, nice effort on viswork's part. the car can be faster if only they got rid of redundant items which are there for flare/show/marketing purposes because these item do not have any function in my humble opinion.

first to go is that chunky looking surge tank arrangement. come on, the fuel cell is tall and narrow and it is already a surge tank in effect! junk the surge tank, get rid of that riser pump from the fuel cell to the surge tank that looks like a japanese internal pump, along with the associated steel fuel lines, and plumb one bosch external pump straight into the fuel cell. junk the surge tank too. route the return from the engine straight into the fuel cell. and if its a bosch 044, junk the other one, just one is enough in my humble opinion if its below 700hp. retain one fuel filter. but of course, it looks less flashy without that surge tank and nicely welded up pumps to it arrangement. but to me its all unnecessary weight. no function.

and junk the unichip too lah. sure its good promotion but what if people say, what kind of programmable ecu is microtech man, needs the help of a piggyback like unichip!

and if got no intention to run nos since its illegal in certain events then junk the nos tank and plumbing too. all these cost power in terms of dead weight.

and after you save that weight, put an intercooler in ler hehehehehe. i'd certainly rather carry an intercooler than all that redundant stuff.

just my humble opinion, whilst i did criticise its all in good light that the car will hopefully run faster with less weight. i just feel that this is a good effort, if only there was a stronger sense of purpose. no offense.

The unichip is use for control the additional injectors , if i not mistaken , i think this
drag monster is running on 4 main injector and 4 sub injector = 8 injector !

And i think the turbo is bigger than TO4R !

All the way using RACING FUEL

1000cc injector lah main lah..... cool... when the injector 100% utlize sure can see the petrol going down. lol
 
spoke to the driver during last Sepang event...

running 100shot single fogger-NOS...on trigger... (probably thats why he came close to Tony5050 on 3rd gear... ;) )

running T04R turbo...

NOT running any intercooler as the NOS wud cool the charged intake air...like most US drag cars...
Anyway the car is going down 1/4 mile for next 15 seconds...then rests for 30mins...then drags again...so basically..itz ok to run without intercooler...

humble driver...nice guy... :D

worse thing wuz i had to go side by side wit him... :(
but it wuz fun...encouraged me to push da limits and react faster than him ! :lol: :lol:

tony...i beat him on 1st & 2nd too...haha...he took me from 3rd gear onwards... :( .... hahaha...
