Hey guys im a hard user of tuffoil for 3 years on my proton wira and it really makes my cars feel smooth and light all the time. But recently i have heard a another engine treatment which called Lubeguard. Its very famous at foreign country expecially their engine and autogearbox treatment. Since the main content of tuffoil is PTFE, or Teflon, it claims that said tuffoil not as good as lubeguard because:

PTFE is a solid which is added to engine oil and coats the moving parts of
the engine.

However, such solids seem even more inclined to coat non-moving parts,
like oil passages and filters. After all, if it can build up under the
pressures and friction exerted on a cylinder wall, then it stands to
reason it should build up even better in places with low pressures and
virtually no friction.

This conclusion seems to be borne out by tests on oil additives containing
PTFE conducted by the NASA Lewis Research Center, which said in their
report, "In the types of bearing surface contact we have looked at, we
have seen no benefit. In some cases we have seen detrimental effect. The
solids in the oil tend to accumulate at inlets and act as a dam, which
simply blocks the oil from entering. Instead of helping, it is actually
depriving parts of lubricant" (Rau).

In defense of Slick 50, tests done on a Chevy 6 cylinder engine by the
University of Utah Engineering Experiment Station found that after
treatment with the PTFE additive the test engine's friction was reduced by
13.1 percent, the output horsepower increased from 5.3 percent to 8.1
percent, and fuel economy improved as well. Unfortunately, the same tests
concluded that "There was a pressure drop across the oil filter resulting
from possible clogging of small passageways." Oil analysis showed that
iron contamination doubled after the treatment, indicating that engine
wear increased (Rau)

However, Lubeguard is totaly safe as it claims:

- LUBEGARD technology was developed by Phillip S. Landis, Ph.D., a highly
distinguished research chemist who headed the Mobil Oil Applied
Lubrication Research Group. Landis is a worldwide leader in the
mechanistic studies of elimination, rearrangement and pyrolysis reactions
of additive preparations for fuel and lubricant applications, and of
catalytic organic reactions and petrochemicals. He holds more than 100
patents.

- LUBEGARD products contain Liquid Wax Esters (LXE`s)

- Unlike others, who purchase prepackaged additives from commodity
chemical manufacturers and mix them together, International Lubricants,
Inc. reacts its own raw materials to create the unique derivatives found
only in LUBEGARD patented products.

LUBEGARD -

Contains No Seal Swellers
Contains No Solvents
Contains No Zinc/ZDDP
Contains No Teflon/PTFE
Contains No Chlorinated Parrifins/Hydrocarbons
Contains No Graphite
Contains No Molybdenum Disulfide

- LUBEGARD in the Engine
Eliminates harmful cold starts
Reduces wear on metal parts
Reduces engine temperature
Increases thermal and oxidative stability of the oil which eliminates
corrosion, varnish and sludge formation
Increases overall performance
Increases mileage
Increases oil life
Increases power
Does not contain any potentially harmful "chemical enhancers and/or metal
treatments"

- LUBEGARD in Automatic Transmissions
Reduces operating temperature, allowing transmissions to perform more
efficiently
Increases thermal & oxidative stability of ATF for stop & go driving,
heavy loads & towing
Reduces transmission wear, extends fluid & transmission life
Maximizes over all transmission performance
Helps reduce comeback & warranty problems for shops & mechanics
Insures proper & smooth shifts
Prevents clutch chatter & torque converter shudder
Eliminates objectionable noise (squawks) during shifts
Keeps valves free. Frees stuck valves in valve bodies
Prevents hung governors
Modifies harsh shifts & makes them quicker in duration
Can be used with all ATFs: OEM, Synthetic or Mineral Oil Based
Contains LXE (synthetic esters & synthetics)

- LUBEGARD Has never been sued for false claims

- LUBEGARD products are endorsed by car manufacturers and OEMs

- LUBEGARD Reduces and Slows Acid formation of engine oil, ATF, Gear oil
etc..

- LUBEGARD has a full product range that offers the same benefits for
LSD, Manual Gearboxes, Power Steering Systems and Cooling S

This's wat i heard...
wish to hear comment from u guys ya...anyone compare it tuffoil and lubeguard before?

Hey focal point can u give me some commant? ofcoz i stil trust more on tuffoil...just that i need to know more bout the advantage of PTFE. coz they claims that Liquid Wax Esters is better le...just wish to learn ya...no offence k:)

The most important thing here is that Tufoil was tested by the National Institute of Standards and Technology ( NIST ) in Washington. This government agency is something like our SIRIM. The test apparatus was a 4-ball machine and according to the NIST, this most closely simulates the internal conditions of an engine.Unlike other products, Tufoil has never been fined by the FTC.Tufoil was also tested by the Canadian government.

We do not know anything about the other products you or the article mentioned. The little we do know, we write here. Slick is now a company owned by a major oil company. Dupont, the maker of ptfe has launched its Engine Treatment some 3 years ago in a handsome round bottle. If ptfe is such a bad thing, these companies would not have wasted their time or resources to further research it and come out with products on their own.Besides, if anything should go wrong, it would certainly bring a bad name to their main business.

The internet is such a tricky minefield today. For anything good that is being written about a product, there will always be something written against it. We suppose everybody will have to live with this reality. Moreover, what matters most is technology and not technical hearsay. Nonetheless, Tufoil has been around for some 25 years and the product's longevity speaks for itself. Besides, Fluoramics Inc. and Focal Point will not engage in gossip to run down others. We stay clean and in the clear.

Thanks for your 3 years of great support, yewjunyan. We do cherish every bottle that you had bought. As a distributor, we sometimes feel we have worked harder than others in answering readers' queries.

hello guys...can u tell me where can i get this Amazing fluid ...ATF Lubegard Platinum especially!
Thanks..:adore::idea:
