Hi guys,

I own a 2004 Camry 2.0, believe it's XV30. Currently still running with the original 2.0 VVTi engine but the mileage is pretty high already & have been thinking of swapping the engine rather than selling the car or getting a new car.

Can anyone tell me what sort of Toyota engine would fit (code/specs of engine)? If possible, I would prefer not to change or rework the original engine mountings. This car is being used by my wife to commute to & from work and occasionally by us during the weekends. Don't need turbo, same or higher higher spec of engine is fine.

Also need recommendation on where i can buy Toyota spare parts from? A good, reasonable & trustworthy spare part shop selling Toyota parts (need to change the suspension & bushes). Somewhere in KL or Selangor preferred. Thanks.

Why want to swap? My father's 2003 camry is 400 000km and going strong. No oil leak or any problems

your model would be known as the ACV30. Engine options other than the existing 2.0 (1AZ-FE) you have are:
2.4L (2AZ-FE)
2.5L V6 (2MZ-FE)
3.0L V6 (1MZ-FE)
3.3L V6 (3MZ-FE)

All are naturally aspirated, and fit to your mountings, as far as I know. Did some research on this a while back for a planned project, which I didn't follow through with until now unfortunately. Got started on something else instead...

Cheers!

I just asked why? Well its your car do what you want, if you want to go on with that attitude nobody will help you

Thanks tks for that info. Will start looking out.

And lkeong, i already posted the reason to why i wanna change my engine (with high mileage comes other problems). Good to know that your dad's Camry is running great but I don't intend to run my car to the ground especially when my wife (lady) is driving it.

In your post you only said you have high mileage without mentioning any problem. If you are afraid it will spoil soon, then you should do a complete overhaul or rebuild instead of swapping a halfcut engine. Who knows whats the real condition of the halfcut engine? At least with a full rebuild, its as good as new
