Hi All!

I know this is a very general topic, but I would like to ask you people...

Those of you who are using turbo -aspirated cars, are you using power steering?

Coz, I was considering to transfer my cb23's power steering to my cb70 gtti's

turbo engine on a G100 chassis ( As most of you will know about my conversion. )

Should I add the power steering? For the bros who are using 4e engines in their

g100's... You all have power steering right? How is it? Does it feel too light?

Basically, everyone with turbo cars can give your opinions on this page...

Please feel welcome to do so.

Thanks and Regards,
Tezt.

for a g200, with 185/60/14 rims/tyres, i'd recommend a power steering. the feeling is just nice. not too light and definitely it doesnt feel heavy!

I would recommend NO power steering. K-Car is not really that heavy (as in compare to sedan) and the additional labour to transfer the power steering unit might cause post symptoms like leaking power steering fluid (for example).

Depend on the driver's mentality, if he/she view power steering as a very very good advantage, inspite of the reduced horsepower, then by all means go ahead. This is a very subjective issue btw.

True, its is subjective.. What tyre size are you using bro Tibun?

I got 185's on my Deto rims... Still seems a bit light with my power steering

on my old cb23 engine.. now switching to cb70... contemplating whether or not to

add the power steering... What I would do now is to add the power steering

pump but remove the belt for it.. this way, I could switch the power steering on or

off... coz i"m afraid the more powerful cb70 would make my g100 frame feel too light when the

turbo kicks in..

Regards,
Tezt.

im using 15" rim, 195 tyre on G100, non power steering. 13" steering. not heavy.
if u r driving the steering still feel very light. just abit effort to steer without moving. ie, parking.

at 1st i thought will be very heavy, as im using 13" previosly. but actually seems lighter. maybe coz after doing the balancing/alignment.

Hey bro Maxx!

You're using cb70 as well? Assuming from your avatar la...

You using Black Racing or Watanabe rims is it?

I was on 13"s too.. the jrd for wira rim.

Much lighter compared to my new deto rims.. hehe..

So, i suppose the 15" 195's should be slightly heavier than my deto's?

hehe

im using cb80.. heheh.

BR rim. btw, my previos rim is enkei mitsu. must be ringan i think.

btw, i feel much more control over unpowered steering. this is my feel la.
compare to driving powered steering, too light for me. car go terhoyong hayang.. hahah..

hey bro Maxx,

whats the real diff. bet. cb70 and cb80?

ur cb80 is using timing chain or belt? just wondering..hehe

True, I agree that power steering is abit artificial la the feel.

BR rims? How much u got them for?

Thanks Bro,
Tezt.

only minor difference in ecu, and doesnt run on O2 sensor.
all the other engine parts is still the same. timing belt.

br, black racing. well, price i think avereage about 1k.

hi...im a newbie here so juz wondering, izzit possible of a stock G10 car to have power steering?? n how to do it? what parts r needed?? thanks sifoos

in my opinion, not worth it to have power steering in stock G10, even if its powered by GTti.
the chassis already very light. installing powered steering will mae steering more lighter, and u will lose the "feeling" while cornering.

yeah dat i agree but when parking, the steering 'helps' to 'build' biceps muscles... so juz wondering how to put power steering... juz want da info bro, plz...thanx...

u'll need the complete power steering system.
power steering pump, steering rack, oil tank, oil lines (piping), and some other required stuff, mounting brcket, belts, pulleys.

so roughly how much dis all costs? n i'm driving a charade G10, izzit possible of putting in power steering from other daihatsu's?such as g100,g200, mira's, etc...?
