last year, i have change the thermostat, clean the radiator, and using branded coolant, its fine when drive even at traffic or hiway cruising, but when up hill, remain constant speed about 3k rpm the temperature goes up,both fan is working fine also, how to solve this kind of problem?some people claim that when uphill, auto transmission car temperature goes up is normal, is it true?besides, if i wan to increase the cooling performance, change radiotor or add on oil cooler better?hope someone can tell me about it, thanks

is it the temperature go up abit then stop at certain range (not near overheated range) ? then this is normal.
if ur temperature continuesly goes up untill to red range..then there should be something wrong with ur engine..

initially yes, its stay at certain level, after keep gping about 10 more minute, its slowly gone up then,i have check the radiator, the water level no less, some more when reach certain temperature both fan also working, now i am suspect will it be the thermostat, but i just replace it last year.

1 more question, when our car iddling reach certain temperature, after the thermostat start working, will the bottom hose become cold?

Bro i had the same exact problem with my old Honda civic EG non vtec model. Only on long uphills like Genting would the car start overheating till redline. Sent it back to Honda for checkup many times. Claimed it was fix, but the problem was still there. In the end i traded in the car.

suggestion from 1 foremen, mix 'colgate' in radiator = no rust n water can keep cool, donno true or not..???

yes. the temperature at the bottom hose of the radiator is colder compare with the upper hose.
wat car model ur r driving actually?? so that we can help to diagnose ur problem easily.

mine got same problem wif this situation only if i ride for long hour travel like 2-3 hour non-stop driving the temperature level going up to red warning level, but if i ride in town n stuck in traffic jam for long hour the temperature level remain at center, btw my car transmission manual and olso change new termostat, water pump and service oledi the radiator around two month before...any suggestion?

My car also faced this kind of problem, when up hill/ long journey/ rev high, the temperature meter up another 1 level.
According to my foreman said, there is 2 posibilities cause the temperature raise up. Either clean the tangki or change the head gasket. FOr budget, purpose, i already clean the tangki,if after clean the problem still occured, have to change the gasket. HOpe the info help, correct me if im wrong.
THanks.

head gasket also one of the cause. since u hav done & checked all of the cooling system. then the last hope is to change the gasket. gasket burnt always happened maybe because of ur engine was overheated before.

i had a similar problem..i sent it for repairs but couldn't be fixed...then duno, just went for normal servicing and it was gone

i fixed my thermostat and my problem gone. last time when i go uphill or swtich off the air con, my meter will reach until the red line.

go fix ur thermostat.

thanks guys maybe i must change the gasket for the last choice coz oledi done change termostat, service radiator, new motor fan before, hopefully can fixed my problem..

a foreman told me how to check whether the headgasket is burst, wait until your car is cool only open the radiator cap, then start ur car, pull on the throttle cable, see whether the radiator water spread it out, if yes, then the headgasket might gone n the radiator water should be little bit oily.but mines all seem okay, now suspect whether is the sensor problem, sorry didnt mention early, mines is honda accord sv4.

most likely is gasket burnt... if u buy a 2nd hand car and hve this problem ... and if ur radiator and termostat is working well.. meaning ur head gasket is going to burnt.. change ur termostat first.. if still ahve the same problem go change gasket.. thats the lsat posibility alreayd... it doesnt meant u cant use ur car.. ur gasket is burn 50% thats why on uphill it raises but traffic jam and normal town driving and 1 2 hour driving it is normal..

if like this just change the head gasket, will it solve the problem? or need to skim the head also?

if you already facing the overheating problem, my suggestion is SKIM the head.....more safer..hee..hee
