TD04L Hybrid

A friends 4G93T TD04L (twin fin) has some of its fins chipped off pretty badly on the compressor side. The foreman says this is becos he used the Blitz wire mesh filter since transplanting more than 3 years ago. The filter is still clean, so go figure.

Anyways, he was wondering, that since he has a TD05 turbine (single fin) at home with a cracked/damaged exhaust housing, can he mix n match the TD05 compressor side to the TD04L exhaust? ie mix n match. issit compatible?

Why bother downgrading from twinfin 2 single fin? well, the only thing better than cheap is free, n the fella is on a budget + isn't the TD05 compressor larger?

tong is the rite person..

but TD05 and TD04 are not the same base...so mix-n-match is not possible..

hybrid turbo will cost you a few kebabs too, you need to do turbo balancing..

So far that i know, the only company have balancing machine for turbo are Turbo World, Turbin Master and tong turbo.

Tong Turbo will charge you RM100 for balancing. He not gurante if the turbo pin (bush bearing, float bearing and roller bearing) kaput.. If replace the bearing it cost you more than RM250 i.e garret rebuilt kit for bush type bearing RM380 not include labour.

Hybrid turbo need to change the fin or modified the fin from compressor to turbin.

anyway..these days there are ALOT more balancing machines available out there...most of them are repair shops too... ;)

as for the prices u quoted...the repair kits will not be relevant to JUN9970 enquiry....as the Garrett repair kit will not fit the Mitsubishi turbo...

Mitsu's use their own brand of repair kits...

i think TDO5H in the market cost only a few hundred RM only...correct me if i'm wrong... :D
