Suitable engine oil for m52b20

Hi there,

My parents just bought an E46 320i UK specs few months back. After running for about 5k km, they thought that they should change the engine oil. Can we use castrol magnatec for that engine as we have been using it for years now or do we need a special engine oil meant for bmw since the service interval usually will be every 25k km. If it is what engine oil shall we use? Hope you guys can help me out about this matter. Thank you

If you intend to follow strictly the 25,000km service interval, you better use a full synthetic oil like Castrol RS or Shell Helix Ultra.
