hi.. there! firstly, i'm very interested to know and to learn how to solve the problem my old civic. just bought my civic last year from someone.. the problem is happen 3 month before.. till now...

  1. 1sometime my civic jerk 2 times while drving on 60 - 80 km/j... but it not happen on all times...
  2. it is less pick-up while u drive on normal style n low power on mountain road
  3. while drive on 80 - 100 km/j my steering shacking n hard to control...
plz... some help

1. jerking due to ignition? distributor?

2. worn out clutch?

3. tyre balancing? worn out end-rack? worn out tie-rod-end? dying inner drive shafts bearings?

just my 2 cents.

is it jerking only due to ignition and distributor ?? my member just alert me to check fuel pump or fuel tank... coz i have some story if it can help me...

like this.. 2 month ago me n my stepbrother was drive my civic to perak. when i was on myway suddenly my civic was jerking. my stepbrother told me.. maybe the problem is come from less fuel was pump from tank. so it will coz jerking while u press the pedal. He advise me to stop at RNR and try to find out the cause.. he open the bonet n shaking the fuel filter... n continue drive. yea.. it was reduce the jerking.. he also advise me to change the new fuel filter..

At serendah (if i'm not forget), i was change a new fuel filter.. after all it done.. we was continue drive to perak... i think the problem was solve.. after half an hour the problem was happen again... n we have no idea to solve...

what do u think about that??

from my experience:

1. due to faulty of 1 injector and plug

2. clutch kong

3. tyre out of balancing ( if u done this but still the same u better check the steering rack + rack end + tie rod end)

If just the jerking.. it could be faulty plug cables.. happened to me once.. it works fine at higher revs, but bogs at low revs.. change cables.. no more problem.

There's other posibilities as well, like the other forummers mention.. I'm just giving another possible reason your car might be like that.

Another might be a loose connection at the fuel pump... which might cause that jerking feel, as the voltage fluctuates and fuel pressure goes whack.

Those suggestions I give are under the assumption that the parts involved are 'believed' to be in good condition.

Steering shaking and hard to control... first thing, ALIGNMENT... get your car aligned, and the wheels balanced.. If that doesn't solve the problem, then your bushings are asking to be replaced. Before replacing the bushings, check if it's not your chassis that's out of shape... a high improbablility, but cheaper than changing bushings and finding out that it doesn't solve the problem.
