You wonder with all those programmers under Microsoft's deep pockets they would make software which is near hacker proof. Just goes to show they can't buy everyone. The security holes were already there to begin with hackers just exploit them, the hackers did not create the holes, so why is Microsoft and uneducated people so against them?

Mozilla does have security problems but the community behind it supports self-program development and sharing. All versions has bugzilla for users to report. Plus the fact that hackers built it they know it inside out, but why we don't hear of malicious exploits?

Everyone hates Microsoft for killing Netscape.

it was okay until every security problem for Windows XP has it to thank for, because it is tied to Windows we cannot get rid of it. By that merit any malicious internet programs can attack it since its tied so deeply with Windows but it itself is open to hacking while the rest of Windows is quite stable.

Problem with Firefox esp when browing some sites (including ZTH)... each time u press Back, an error will appear, "Site contains no data"...

I don't really use the BACK button anymore.
I open up "My controls" then "Subscription".
I open a new tab window for every thread and close it once I replied.
Never need to use back :P

i hav no problems with firefox wor? really like this cos its much faster than IE... but some features in IE canot use in firefox la... some sites with some plugins canot open with firefox 1.. but stil ok...

I rather not have those extra bandwidth killing plugins if they are not important. IE automates so much in the background you dunno what it actually downloaded. I tried some sites with IE and Mozilla. Mozilla blocked popups and extra downloads like .exe and etc. But IE just kept on downloading and was really slow in loading webpages.

not quite.

upgrading to SP2 fixed some problems and created some other problems.
downloaded and installed the 80mb hot fix from microsoft.com (windows update).
"unmountable_disk_drive" error fixed BUT the whole system feels very heavy and slow.
backing up everything now to do a fresh install of windows.
got the SP2 cd :P

oh yeah for anyone who hasn't upgraded to SP2 yet better coz the unmountable_disk_drive error is a common thing for SP1 and non SP1 Windows XP machines on any IDE HDD :blink:

so if it happends all your data is still "there" but unreadable.

can try to put the windows xp installation cd and try to recover your data but its a 50-50 chance thing. <_<
