It was probably a first time quote by the UK insurance company as they didnt have the expertise to refresh the ECU. A simple cobb unit could have done it i think. Having to replace the whole ECU is a bit extreme IMHO. Labour cost is also a lot cheaper in asia.
Quoted from another member:HINGES
65400-JF06A £94
65401-JF06A £94
HOOD ACTUATORS
B5344-JF30A £685.07
B5345-JF30A £414.12
IP CONTROLLER
284B7-JF50A- £1071.99
So by my maths, it comes to the grand total of: £2359.18
But we haven't factored into account the front bumper, which could be another £1000 for example. Paint & labour, even if you said that was £4000
-------------
Could have saved on the bumper and got an aftermarket or even just a fibre repair, which is much much cheaper.

What i would do (if i had an R35) is remove the the rams and use a cobb unit to save the original ecu settings so the safety sensors/airbags etc can easily be reset. I doubt i will be running into and pedestrians, and if i did, they will probably be dead, including me, the driver. :)
Ps, the North America R35's dont have this system in the cars, only European models and JDM (our grey imports). Not sure about Tan Chong Singapore.
