You staying nearby! How come you also don't know one? I think it started in October last year, but a fren told me it stays the same for the past 4 months. How was the weather in Sandakan?

the weather not good at all . everyday rain like hell .....

A friend told me yesterday that the company of the 4D "88" in Kota Kinabalu has submitted a proposal to the Sabah Govt to develop the Tambalang pony race course in Tuaran and the RM42million proposal may also include a drag racing strip beside the upgrading of the pony race course.

Anyone know the inside info of the proposal?

If it is true, STC in Sandakan should buck up and complete their drag race strip now and have a head-start of the business before they may be overtaken by "4D-88"/Diriwan where all the Bruneian, Sarawakian and Sabah west coast drag race enthusiasts start to lose confidence over Sandakan race course and pick Tuaran race course as the "talk of the town" for future races and racers' "annual pilgrimages" in the history of Borneo drag racing sport.

No surprises. Perhaps weather and budget problems ..

Perhaps Borneogtir may want to tell us about his revised schedule if any.

Good news! Just heard that the track have completed and will be open to tuners to test their cars very soon according to the mec who modified the kancil king in S'kan.

I just got back from Sandakan, and yes, the asphalt has been laid and almost complete. I'd say 30-40% work left(ie Timing beams, fencing, etc).

Just a comment though, it looks very narrow to me, more like Kolombong highway standard or even less...

Snapped some photos of the strip as of today, at around 2.30pm. Someone help me to upload the photos here. thanks.

Hopefully, the 30%-40% work left is not weather dependent. I guess they have no choice but to complete the asphalt as soon as possible because the world's price for oil/tar is going up daily like nobody's business as we read the news. Even diesel and cost is already up by a large amount and their budget would look worse if they still delayed the road construction.

Hopefully, the prices for petrol/racing fuel and rubber tyres will not go up too much by the time STC start their business/event.

hmm, seem like a good news to all the sabah racers that they had a good place to race then...

hope to heard good news from u guys then...
cheers
