Anyone know what is the significant difference between a 1.3,1.5,1.6,1.8 and 2.0 Diesel proton wira chassis? can the chassis be upgraded from 1.5 to 1.8? I do know that you can spot weld, but will it be to stiff for Malaysian road? and also, if the car has been moving for 10 years + will the chassis be deformed? since the chassis is always moving. and can it be re structure back to it original state? any experience is welcome!

yes u can send it for chassis strengthening... they spotweld weak places and add extra metal to strengthen it... but this is not upgrading the chassis from 1.5 to 1.8... ur chassis code will still remain the same... u are jz strengthening it....

Where can it be done bro..
Does any weld shop or workshop do this kind of thing...?

My car got this "tub tub" sound when i shift my gear mostly on 2nd to 3rd, so i suspect it was the drive shaft since i had this experience before. then the mech says so to, but after changing it, the sound continue and then later i found out that my chassis weld has cracked! it was located at the fender chasiss if that is what they called it, and it was inside a opening at the chasiss, around 6 inches from my after market fender bar (the area you screw) and i also realize the factory spot welded area began to rust. So is possible to find people who knows what they are "Really" doing to recondition the entire chassis to factory measurements and only strengthen the area where by its save from pre-mature detachment. (i got to know factory chassis allow certain degree of free play to avoid cabin harshness and also premature cracks).

Send it back to Proton. As of my knowledge, manufacturer do have the service of fixing chassis to as good as new.

p/s: I wrecked my car, the manufacturer change the entire chassis (Its a German made)
