Our Salaries........

bro CSL,

seems you are very particular about food. You earn so much so can afford to be that particular laa. someore oil & gas keep increase price now......sure your income will increase.

well, even in nasi campur and teh tarik i think you can feel the increase.....I also try to adjust when i back to msia for holiday...being used to the rm20 chicken rice and rm7 per glass teh tarik here in HK, i got very exicted to drink the rm1.5 teh tarik and rm5 chicken rice when i back. But later on only realise that they are already much more expensive then what they supposed to be for the price in msia.

I also find very hard to adapt for the price when go to countries like europe for business trip. But will have to get used to it when staying there for sometime.

This thread start with food mar
But if you aware of it, as long as you don't drive nice car or wear branded cloths or stay in elite place, you will still ok. But, you know la, not everyone can think correctly. I had met a lot of low-mid income people that saying "if I leave KL for a week and stay in Kuantan, I'll die". I think you know what I mean. 99 out of 100 Malaysian also like to complaint. Especially Chinese. I don't complaint much because I know no one owe me anything when I was born. But, a lot of people think that when they are born, the parents, or even the world owe them billions of dollars.

20 Golden Rules for Any Office!!

18. In order to get a promotion, you need not necessarily know your job.

19. In order to get a promotion, you only need to pretend that you know your job.

Probably will works on 3rd world country. I just got my 26.5% basic pay raise (payroll under USA) as per my performance and my client satisfaction. I earn par to a more senior Scottish colleague now.

Just 2 things need to remember:

1. Be honest
2. Hardworking

yup..
i detest ppl who are lazy..

csl dude,

for engineering field maybe hardworking is good but for management especially those project management, merger and acquisition hardworking one usually dont work that much. ...sometime they get one deal then they can rest for half year.

By the way, hongkers always said we msians work like bull only. And we say they are NATO only......hahaha

My boss work from home most of the time and he has a lot of holidays, but still he is the promising stars of our asia pac division. He said work smart, dont work hard.......

This year i not sure will get pay increase or not maybe the max is a mere 5-7%. But last year and the year before its a happy year.....i started my work in 2003 .......and by end of 2007 i got nearly 8 times increase from 2003..........but also got 8 times higher stress and responsibility.......

actually working nowadays just can substain the living, want to get better then need to work abit out with some side business......

The terms of hardworking I mean was not really that hardworking. What I mean is your hardworking image. Let people respect you in stead of envy you. Be honest also not meaning that have to be really honest. The lie only use on emergency situation which allow you to lie. If really honest and hardworking, before your boss raise your pay, you already been offer those volunteer resign thing  BTW, different people need different way to handle. Some boss likes 'no news is good news' but some want you to write a report every day. As long as the boss don't think that you are too smart, you will be safe for a while.

Regardless what, money will never enough. The much you earn, the more you spend. But you do have the few options to choose. The really poor one only has 1 option.

FYI, I also work 6 months in a year

true..
a person will never be satisfied with his earnings..
eventhough his pay rise keep escalating yearly..
yet he still yearns for more..
& the more money you have..
the more u spent!!..

csl,
Good points there. For me, comparing will always remain as what it is.... comparison. I plan my monthly budget based on how much I get and how I handle my own monthly income. Whether other country is paying more for whatever, it really doesn't concern me because at the end of the day, the way I spend my money will still be based on how much I earn and how much I can save each month. I'd believe that whether the cost of living is high or not in malaysia will vary from one person to another. For example, a person earning RM5k a month but living very humbly with very simple things in life (maybe single story house, drives a stock proton, eating home most of the time, no air cond, etc.), he can save more money and to him, he will think that cost of living is OK. Yet, if he were to stay in a double story house, have 10 insurance, etc., it'll end up that RM5k per month is not enough. There are people who are happy and probably satisfied with life with RM2k or RM3k or salary. If they can be happy, why can't people who earn RM5k or RM6k be happy and satisfied too, eh? hehehe Well, that's what I think. hahahaha

u wanna hired a PA anot??

Even my boss also no PA lar   . But I have a assistant to cover me at night. 24 x 7. As I said before, my job is hampalang sapu. My company just throw me in a jungle, and the kuli till field engineer till the manager job all have to be done.

I was happy during my Satria 1.3M era. After a decade, I'm still happy with my Renesis but maybe not that pure and solid. Sure money can buy happiness. But is it real or artificial? Only our sub conscious able to differentiate and tell us if it works. I used to believe "money is not everything, but without money can do nothing". Now, I believe "money cannot do everything, but having more money can have more options". And in the future, MAybe I'll follow Chua's footstep for having 'friends'. Else, I may loss the heart to fight for a better life, cuz I may over satisfy with all my other achievement (all people has different limit and factors).

Urge can bring us up. But it can pull us down. Depends on if we are controlling or being controlled. Money is just a media. End of the day (before we die), the only thing we are actually looking for is just a very simple basic thing - The happiness that come from the deepest end of our heart, which as same as a 2 years old child received a gift worth RM0.20.

with the increase price on oil and food supply. We should see higher inflation in 2008.

Korea suffered a big inflation last time. Until all grads also came out demo. Now what happen?

Regardless how much it inflate, the market will balance it up. You and me will suffer a while only. We won't die if we can let go our face. Remember the invisible hand can get a lot of thing done, from the stock exchange to our personal life.

I already let go my face, I didnt rent a big apartment and buy a sports car even I can......just to build reserve and invest into my studies.

The competition in HK/China are quite high... A lot of smart people are in the market here. Not easy to make a living here but its challenging to compete here.

Russia is a good place to establish some trading business , it has huge resources and high risk...
