Well, the trend of the world is that all cars are getting bigger. Small cars become big cars and big cars become bigger cars. Humans getting fatter and fatter I guess.

Jap cars are very logical and very ergonomical. In short they are very good cars. But because of wanting to make them so good with the space and safety and so on. They sort of compromise on a lot of things. Styling for one. And because they are so good and safe and comfortable and logical and practical they become predictable and boring and a bit too clinical. I think they need to inject a little more fire and passion and madness to their cars.

Special hot versions are good and proper but it is like a housewife wearing a sexy dress. It may look better but it is still the same old. You need some work on the inside, some fire in her belly.

Well, what is being said is true. It's mostly about trend and demands from consumers -that is really the main drive for car manufacturers to produce such car design. That's perfectly logical and acceptable.

As long as these manufacturers leave the sport/performance cars design alone, I'm happy. What saddens me is that sometime even sport cars designs are not spared from car design disaster. The designer made a whimpy car isntead of making the car more pure breed, sportier than its predessesor.

For example, The WRX has gone from bad to worst in the look recently. but this is just me.......

yeah its just you lolx~ its hard for me to accept new car design as well, but after getting use to it i do feel that its getting better and better. i dunno about imprezza codes, but i still favour the last generation wrx (the one between the newest one and the GD type, i think).

people say the gc8 like the one bunta drive in initial d is nice, but i find it normal and plain.. so.. its really just personal stuff :D

if new car price always come down , it will affect directly on 2nd hand value of older models.

You can get Japanese cars like the Civic for 5000 pounds in the UK (relatively new models somemore). New prices are more than double that. 5000 pounds would even buy you an E36 M3.

Compare that to the situation is Malaysia. Fucking 10+ year old Civics still selling for 40k. Gila babi prices, new cars and old cars alike.

Agree..... couple years i stay at New Zealand. when year 2003 at NZ the civic SO4 with B16a year 98 is $5000 only which is RM 12,000 before the currency gone up!
