Hi guys, I have one question here.. Dunno where else to ask in zth forum. :hmmmm:

I drive a Civic EJ. My car ECU needs to be reset (disconnect battery) after a few months or else the engine will be a bit sluggish. Is it because the ECU is 'relearning' or something else? By the way, I'm using stock ECU.

its no harm to disconnect battery terminal(-) once in a few months...it let the ecu refresh actually....

but for newwer vehicles, simply do this may affects some electronic stuffs

Automotive ECU has its ability to study the sensors' input and maximise the performance by itself. Unless you have replaced a new sensor or had something changed, otherwise you need not reset the ECU.
For you case, you probably have a dirty/faulty sensor that need attention. You might want to diagnose your ECU to read the error codes (if any).
Beside that, some Japanese car that built in between 1991-1996 is facing ECU aging problem. Since your EJ is falls in these year you may want to give it a check for safe.
