Need some advise about 4G91 Engine

im new in engine mod. if any forumer have advice for me regarding 4G91 engine.

I've realy have tight budget and need to replace my current engine. Stock engine has blow last saturday night and i want to do transplan in this week.

by the way... im driving Mitsubishi Lancer A172 (Lampu Kotak one), Rear Drive and and my stock engine is 4G12 (1.4cc SOHC)

i ask mechenic and mechenic told me that i can use any 4G engine < 1.6 that should ngam with my gearbox.

i notice that 4G91 has 2 type, Injection and Carburator. Wich 1 better? how about flywheel and clutch. Is't same with my current one?

2nd i notis that Carburator one have socket to in carburator and engine. Is't connected to any controller? If yes, is't can operation without a controller? it for what ectualy?

Hope any forumer can reply me before friday evening. Not realy decide which engine i'll buy.

hi.. not much a pro also. but i try.

either carbie or EFI, 4G91 still has DOHC and 16 valves so it actually is more powerful than 4G15. no doubt EFI spec is slightly more powerful...maybe 8-12% but then installation might be complicated especially if ur Lancer hasn't got wiring for EFI. which is why i am suggesting the carbie spec may do. definitely more power than the previous 1.2.

if really want more power...try 4G61 twin cam EFI (also got turbo spec) even though on paper already exceeded 30% engine capacity increased allowed by JPJ/Puspakom.

pls correct me if i am wrong.

p/s btw if interested I am disposing my E12 Super Touring soon...very cheap. i am using standard 4G37 1.8 engine but the car is ever ready for 4G63 transplant. only gearbox mounting need some modification upon installation. pm me for info.

sorry twist..i have no idea. 4G61 is a lot older than 4G91 but it is more powerful especially in turbo spec so most probably dearer. erm, maybe about RM2,500 (unit only) as i was quoted a 4G63 DOHC non turbo complete halfcut for RM2,800 last year.
