Need help on tyre selection

I need advice on selecting tyre size and brand of tyre to be used for my AE101. I really am new and still learning about cars. Currently using 15" rim. i don't have a big budget, just need for normal daily driving through the hill area.
1. What brand is quiet and have nice grip in all weather?
2.What size of tyre best for the car with 15 inch rim?

Hope anyone can help me with this. I m a lady driver and scare always get cheated when go to tyre shop to install new tyre. Thanks

U can always use Falken Ziex ZE-912......the amount of grip is good enough for a standard road car... it is also quiet and comfortable tyre, price should be around RM 170-190 for 15 inch (195/50 or 195/55)

U can always use Falken Ziex ZE-912......the amount of grip is good enough for a standard road car... it is also quiet and comfortable tyre, price should be around RM 170-190 for 15 inch (195/50 or 195/55)

195/55/R15 for more comfort. Current price for ZE-912 is RM195.00

Not at all if ur car NVH level is moderate. For a corolla, I think is just nice. Treadwear is 360, and the tyre is good for 35000km.

Tyre noise also depends tyre wear. Wear evenly less noise.....

Have a look at Michelin Pilot sport 3 as well btw. They aren't that far off compared to the 912s in terms of price and perform much better imho

dont buy conti's made locally at mergong, alor star......they are all crappy tyre, it's just like a rebadged sime tyres and they share the same factory

conti's made in europe are hell expensive!

Yes, conti a bit pricey. Tyres in your category are the Comfort Contact 5 and Premium Contact 2, but I won't not say it re-badged from Sime. Conti have their own formula and they have bought over DMIB which was owned by Sime. Now is Conti-Sime....

im using Conti Comfort Contact 5 now...ok ma~~~

it absorb the small bump & pothole well due to the soft sidewall...vry silent as well(still under 10Kkm)...grip wise not bad for daily drive..

due to hill area...go for maxxis ma-z1...RM190 for 195/55/55...superb performance in that range price...b4 dis i'm using ze912...alwaz 'buang' a bit....


maxxis ma-z1 after 4 laps time attack uphill..

im using Conti Comfort Contact 5 now...ok ma~~~

Normal use most tyre also okay. As mention by you, soft, absorb bump & pothole because CC is comfort contact....

However if the size is 185/55/R15 then RM220 is the current price.

Yes.. 195/55/15. RM220 to RM230 last time I checked. But I guess there's a catch - I got that price with rims. But I opted for the Evo 595 for RM200 a piece instead.. stupid stupid me.

hehe, I have postoned to change new tyre since my newly installed engine have problem. see what can be done first before buying new tyre. :frown:
