myth buster about proton 1.3 cannot go till 1.8

wat about bmw e30 320 convert to rb20... have anyone tried to endorse this engine without a runner... pls advice
 
wow.. very good info bro... clears all the doubt and curiosity... furthermore puspakom nowadays under high pressure from the BPR...therefore hiring runners is not a good idea...enjoy your reborn ride!! :burnout:
 
how about a wira 2.0 diesel? can go for evo3 engine?.. same cc level like perdana mah :confused:

Types of application


  1. Category 1: Engine conversion from the same model and capacity as the original engine.
  2. Category 2: Engine conversion from the same model and capacity not exceeding or not less than 25% of the original engine.
  3. Category 3: Engine conversion from the same model and capacity exceeding or less than 25% of the original capacity.
  4. Category 4: Conversion of engine that uses different type of fuel from the original.
  5. Category 5: Conversion of engine from different model.

Requirements for application
Requirements that need to be complied with during engine conversion


  • No modification to the engine mounting
  • Welding on the engine mounting is not allowed.
  • The propeller shaft cannot be cut or joined at any part.
  • No cracks or rust on the engine mounting.
  • The brake system needs to be upgraded for an engine with a capacity of more than 25% of the original.
  • The suspension system needs to be upgraded to account for spring stiffness.{/mostip}

For category 1 - Applications should be submitted directly to the State RTD together with the following documents.

  1. http://portal.jpj.gov.my/v5/index.php/Download-document/19-Pemberitahuan-Penukaran-Enjin.html
  2. Original registration card
  3. Original engine purchase receipt
  4. Certified customs letter K2
  5. New insurance .
For category 2 - Applicants need to go to PUSPAKOM for special inspection and report to the State RTD with the following documents:

  2. Original registration card
  3. Original engine purchase receipt
  4. Certified customs letter K2
  5. Letter of indemnity
  6. Puspakom inspection report (B2) L
  7. MVL (road tax)
  8. New insurance.
For categories 3 , 4 and 5 - Applicants need to apply to the Technical Division, RTD Headquarters together with the following documents:

  2. Copy of registration card
  3. Copy of engine purchase receipt
  4. Copy of customs letter (K2)
  5. After obtaining approval from the Technical Division, applicants need to follow the category 2 process.

Basically any engine conversion you can do.. as long as you follow all the guideline and get approval from Technical devision of JPJ... fuih very happy laa after found out about this... means that my satria 1.3 able to get a more powerful heart.. :driver::driver::burnout:

Is this a loophole or smtg?

So you apply under category 5, which means you can use any engine from any car model regardless of the capacity?

I think the tough part would be obtaining approval from the Technical Division.
 
if we put aside those jdm direct fit engine into the local assemblies, how bout those that came from differant car... definitely the engine mounting or crossmember will have to shift abit... if cant weld, cant modify then how to install?

thats why it is not allowed by jpj.... they afraid u do bad welding job, the whole engine came off and endanger other motorist...
