Hi, I am considering a new car, i would like it to be sporty yet comfortable enough for daily drive...
any car within RM 200k to 300 K will be fine...

I currently considering Mazda MX-5 and VW Scirocco, but which is better ?

use it for gal or guy?mostly ppl will buy scirocco cuz is vw brand...even tat is powerful than mx5 as i know

I'm buying for myself actually, I travel a lot in highway,

Is scirocco more stable than MX-5 in highway ? I hope to have a stable car even I driving at high speed,

MX5 is too small ler...sporty in the city, but she said must be stable on highway

MX5 can be stable around 100 to 140km too,
I test drive scirocco and somehow the engine sound annoys me,

Jessica, maybe you can consider other cars
with VW consistantly on the bottom of reliability test, i quite skeptic over the new car,
For Mazda , rotary engine parts are hard to find , most likely you have to wait 2 or 3 month for the parts to come if your car had breakdown,

I would suggest Nissan Skyline R32, or maybe Honda Civic type R, or even Impreza sti v9

skyline really not my cup of tea....thanks for the suggestion anyway,

Is there difference on space between mx5 and scirocco?
Pocket : Mx5 is small, but is it enough to fit 2 to 3 luggage ?

comparing peas with peanuts FTW! :thefinger:
'better' can only be defined by you after you tested both cars yurself!

and i'm vw-biased, sooo.....

wasup guys , scirocco n mx5 both are cool car . ( SCIROCCO 1.4 tsi 160ps 6 speed manual or 7 speed auto or GT but shit cos diessel ) MX5 160hp 2.0L DOHC 16 valve ++rwd witch is very cool but small car not much room , if you chose solf top i think is a risk ,,, you know what i mean ...

Should get a scirocco, it perform much more better in any sense compare with MX-5. Or u can think of getting a Audi or BMW 320i E92 with that price.

Jessica, if you are one of the lucky few that never lost that spark to go zoom-zoom then there is only one car company that shares that same spark.

For them driving is expression, exhilaration and liberation. They make cars that capture the emotion of motion which we all refer to as "Go Zoom-Zoom"

The Mazda MX-5 is using normal 4 piston engine.
Only the Mazda RX-7 and RX-8 are using rotary engine (1300cc).

If u want a fun and stylish car, then the Mazda MX-5 is for you.

Check out these reviews.

Both are different type of cars.

The MX-5 is a roadster or sportscars. It offers a different driving experience than the Scirocco.

So just go out there and test drive both cars to get a feel of it. Buying a car involves alot of factors..not just the engine power.

With rm200k-300k, there are better options out there, seriously.

Mazda MX-5 has one of the worst fuel efficiency ratings for its class and has won worst fuel economy award. Read wheel driven, it is a fun car to drive. Good for weekend car.

Chirocco is new hot out of the oven, stylish, more powerful & efficient, but it's a front wheel driven. Good for everyday car.

If you only want new cars, BMW 3-Series & Merc C-Class are also fun and best yet Comfortable to drive around everyday.

If you consider recons, Nissan Fuga, Merc CLK, SLK are also great choices for fun & comfort. Prices are around the same just the size different.
