M3 lah.....320Ci or 330Ci variants do not have 276Nm on wheel to match MR2 sprint...we were going at 110 and at the blink of an eye XXXkmh (speed cannot mention here for obvious reasons) and he was sticking to me like a glue.

Ok. Only way to prove this is I'll ask Zee Monster to bring his 325i Sport out to play with you. Then we'll see whether it needs 276nm or not

We have heard of MR2 going up against Murcielago (iexit where are you?), Ferrari 460, F355 on KL roads but I always wondered how it will fare against M3.....

I had a short spat with an M3. I was driving leisurely on the high speed lane at less than 2800 rpm on the Kesas highway when suddenly a M3 sticks on my rear view mirror, he must have come from afar and speeded on seeing a fellow sportscar. Since I am alone and he is alone, it was a hot day tyres felt very sticky, what the heck, I stepped on the accelerator, the turbine started to spool, I was not even at full boost yet but started to pull away from him. I can see behind the black tinted glass and black car, he is dead serious and all his electronics are in play and on full alert. Obviously in no time he caught up with me again. I have to signal out as my exit is coming, naturally I missed my exit as I was flying over undulations, his stick to the road like a rock (again all the traction controls AYC, YAWs blah blah...) I let him through and did not resume our spat but was surprised that a 20 year old stock standard car can pull away from an M3 and this was the real deal M3 (Z monster may know him!!!), big fat tires, 380bhp on wheel, latest electric gizmos and all, obviously in the long run I could not keep up but now I know given a flat & straight road, a MR2 can out accelerate a M3, 350Z.....what's next.

Here's an inspiration to help lil piggy and Chris decide, what a 1.1 bar MR2 can do!!!!

a spat like this is like masturbation la bro. it's not even a stand still drag race! how come you claim you can take on an M3 in event like this and some more glorious claiming victorious. the only reason you move a side when you are out of your top speed gear already laa and the M3 right back at you period! your 20 years stock Mr2 could not stand a chances in a proper track with long straight and series cornering chicane. (got to see some video on M3 and few generation of Mr2 on track). pls laa. dont claim such things like this, for some its sound very silly. next time get an M3 and your Mr2 on a drag...and hell get a fully drag mode wiralution can also out sprint your 20 years Mr2 and claiming just like you did. anyway..everyone has its day izzit it.:sleep: :sleep:

BTW..MR2s are mean track machines in it's earlier days.
Check out the GT300 standings from 1996-2000.
And now continued in it's place is the MR-S GT300.

Both M3 and MR2s are good cars.

Could you post some links so we can see what you claim ?

dudes..please try not to bring in a wiralution into this matter as it involves only mr2 vs.m3 as per announced by soff. Confusing as hell to get a MR2 vs. M3 vs. wiralution. Furthermore both BMW and MR2s are stunning breeds of cars but the wiralution is a monster(non-original engine).
BTW do u have any friends with an M3 or 3-series(330/328/325) BMW for a friendly test with Soff's MR2 so we can close this case study? :)

To MR Velocity:
Bro. First off.. Why are you so rude..? Are YOU there when soff is dragging with the M3? Do you have solid proof that soff did not win? I do agree that MR2 is older in terms of age in contrast of the M3. But please, anything is possible. I do have confidence that MR2 can outrun the M3. Well, it is not suprising that a MR2 can outrun a M3. With proper tuning, why the heck not? M3 is a very very good car, but don't forget. Driver's skills is even more important than the car. It's not a stand still drag race you say? Go have a look at those Youtube videos that does the same thing. Ever heard of rolling starts? Why don't you flame them instead? They are doing rolling starts too? And please, don't forget the CC of the engine of each car.

AND PLEASE DO NOT DRAG A WIRALUTION INTO THE PICTURE.

I'm a fanboy of MR2s also. Heck, i don't even own one (planning to get one soon anyway =P).

Yeah, I should not involve wiralution in to this. can spoil any sports car for that matter. Its unbelievable they can do within 4-sec 0-100 km drag... thats is super-car territory. The video that I have seen is a Jap DVD sometime last year. Cant find in youtube also. Lets see how to close this mmmm....

Well then, Sorry if you might think the words i'm using is rude.

However, My point is very clear. a standard/stock MR2 would not stand a chances with real deal M3 period. give it a drag race, rolling starts or track race. A fully monster MR2 the story may outcome otherwise. Given Soff's "stock" MR2 claim and conclude 20years old "stock" MR2 can out run a 380bhp on wheel M3 is pretty silly don't you think. YOU too being silly if you still think so.

MR2 is a cool car. In UK they having a MR2 to Ferrari conversion body kit. damn cun. look like a smaller Ferrari hey.
