The CR-Z is Honda’s take in bringing both hybrid and motorsports closer together, and it is taking an interesting journey so far. With already a thumbs up on the looks, the CR-Z is now slowly leaving its trace on the motoring scene like its participation in Japan’s Super GT race and also on our own 2012 TIMETOATTACK.

Even so, the 1.5-liter power plant coupled with the electric motors could do better if it had a bit more power than the original output; 138 horsepower to be exact with 119 lb/ft of torque. And for that, as a veteran in modifying and racing a wide range of Hondas in the past 30 years, Jackson Racing had stepped in the game to give this hybrid hatchback a shot of steroids which it properly deserves.

For a power increase of 40%, the supercharger kit from Jackson Racing raises another 50 horsepower and 45 lb/ft of torque to the CR-Z’s output, giving it almost 190 horsepower to play with the plus side of maintaining the hybrid’s fuel economy run. The system was also been subjected to a thorough testing in durability to ensure that it drives like how it rolled out from the factories, with the plus side of having an extra boost when needed. Among the trials that the system went through was during the Super Lap Battle 2011, where it had broken the previous Hybrid record by almost 6 seconds at the first run.

The supercharger system comes in three packages; the Tune Yourself Kit, Factory Tuned System and the FlashPro Tuner System, all priced from $3995 - $4995 (RM12,400 – RM15,500). Decent power for the CRZ, but the bodykit makes it look like a lawnmower sitting on that grass.

I heard the HKS Supercharger now on promotion RM16K, ori price around RM20K.

Add on the HKS Supercharger can give up to 200HP and a little bit more of tuning and mods could actually gain more than that...
300HP is possible from what I read.

Haha.. 200 is reasonable number, 300 just overrated, that would need forged internal n more...
