To all Mitsubishi Evo Owners,

Just to do a survey "how much is your monthly salary to own a Mitsubishi Evo 7 and above"??And how much you pay for your monthly installment?

Mind sharing?

You can try this:-

VaioT17: To answer ur question is quite subjective. It's all depend how much downpayment you pay for the car. More downpayment = less installment fees. I'm sure you have your budget ready before considering an Evo. I assumed you know how to calculate hire purchase repayment.

Also, owning the car is one thing... the ability to afford all the maintainance cost plus upgrade is another story.

I think 4K permonth salary is achieveable with a good downpayment.. Figure it out and dont forget, once you buy the car, then the maintenance also should be think of. And the 4WD roadtax. and the insurance.

in the end of the day, take a picture of your girlfriend and put it side by side to the amount of RM you got to pay monthly.

I am sure things would get even...

roadtax expensive meh for evo ?? i thought it just RM394 a year same as others 2.0L car hehehe

And the 4WD roadtax

Erm... unless JPJ changed things when nobody was looking, there isn't such a thing as a "4WD roadtax".

Only thing that determines how much road-tax you pay is whether you run petrol or diesel and whether the registration is private or company.

Road-tax calculation for the EVO is just like any other 2.0L petrol-engined car, even if it makes as much power as some 4.0L engines.

Again,

Owning an evo is not a problem.

Maintaining it is ! and if u starts go get itch hand..modding it will start killing u...bleed u to death..hehe.

Grixism,

Impreza is for comparisons for Lancers la..

Now we're discussing about Evos..so you should have said,

***
alaa....just go get STI lah..

that would make more sense ! : P

DD, u forgot to put 1 zero...shd be 20K/mth. or at least .. hehe :_:

My mthly installment is close rm3k!!! Maintainance wise nothing really much... But prices paid for those upgarding parts are super exp.!!! :_: I think even wanna to mod an EP3 or DC5, it wil cost as much too right??? So it all depends on how 'icthy' is urself after buying de car... Hehehe...

Errr... sorry ya... Salary cannot share la... Pai seh... not much... LoLzzzzzzzz.....

Grixism,

Yo bro, u own an STi too??? I jus sold off my STi Ver 8 last wk... Errr... Maintainance wise its almost same compare to Evo... But for parts wise, most of it are more expensive than Evo... Sigh!!! Spec C not tht good... Am looking at S204 next!!! :_:

paying monthly for an evo can be the same as paying for a perdana also... depending on how much you put down payment in the first place.... but after buying... you need extra aside for petrol/maintainence/and wear&tear....

if u just put 20% down & drag the repayment up to 9 years, then monthly should be around RM1.5k....
then u need to add in the petrol, insurance, general maintenance & wear & tear parts. It will cost u another 1K.

You need to spend around RM2.5k+- for it.

All excluding the upgarding which might cost double your installment each time.

Good Luck Bro, Hope to c u join MLOC soon!!

the bigger the downpayment the less monthly payments....

It's a tough question, it also depends on which Evo model are you buying and the selling price too.

and insurance for RM160,000 insured value would cost you around close to RM4,000 without NCB.

normal service (oil and oil filter change) would cost you RM300 (if motul 300v) but if use other full syn oil will cost about less than RM200. i usually service my car after 3000km but some mech would say 5000km is ok; hence its up to you when to service, i would recommend servicing frequently if u do make your baby work hard.

major service (all gears oil - AYC, ACD, Gearbox + normal service) will cost around RM1k. This does not include changing belts.

if you don't mod your car much then the above would be a good idea on how much will it cost to maintain your car per month.

the above is based on my evo7 and i am not sure if it applies to earlier/later models.

IMHO - if it's a used car, more than 3 to 4 years old, i would advise leaving a side RM500/month for normal service and replacement of wear & tear parts. So do budget in extra RM500 to your monthly installment; eg. RM2.5k (installment) + RM500 = RM3k.

hope the above helps.
