manually using the auto gear

4G15 only la. I kinda regret actually. Doesn't really seem to go well with the engine. I think I needed something slightly taller, maybe from the GTI. Oh well, next time when money falls from the sky I'll do that.

just swap the final drive la...

*mostly because on many autobox, the final drive were taller than the manual version of same engine......let say on my auto 1.6...3000rpm speed is 125km/h (gps speed) while the same 3000rpm on manual car only 110km/h (speedo speed)

Pomen...thanks for the explanation. didnt log in 2days in a row...

izso...my mech says its an ez job to replace the clutch for autobox...cost depends on how well the mech knows the autobox...he's used to doing it thats y he says small job (he's got at least 3 wira auto GB dismantled last time i saw him). he also did say if yr RPM drops too much when shifting gears or if u'r unable to wheel spin via "left leg brake, right leg 1.5k rpm...means yr clutch about to kong....cos cant hold the power from crank to wheel...

err...sarcasm?

dont know about you, but most 'normal' people doesn't know what OD OFF button really do...

Some myth..
1) My car no good cause no got OD OFF button...only got 1 ,2 ,3 and D..
2) Dont drive with OD OFF up Genting..it destroy you gearbox...
3) OD OFF just like sport mode...it holds longer in gear...:thefinger:
4) Some people failed to mention the OFF. Just overdrive, means POWER!! :banghead:

I also manually use the Auto..heel n toe downshift...release throtttle upshift..
hold brake with left foot to launch..
much2 faster...also sounds like manual gearbox..

reminds me 2 drifting heel & toe:smokin:

The pickup is definately better from start/stop situation. But in order to get best acceleration you have to switch the gear all the way to D1 1st and step on the gas & brake to rev up & pedal to the metal then switch to D2 D3 D4 if you have them.

Downside is autogear not meanth for heavy usage. You will suffer gear problems earlier & possible gear oil leak from the seals faster.

If you really want to shift gear should just use a Manual gear.

that is true but i like to do it that way coz really like fliptronic thats a gazilions years to own:banghead:

I think if the TPS sensor also plays an important role if you choose not to shift it manually..

Where is that issuezark fella? Come come let's talk auto 3-speed slushbox!

think the fella is overwhelmed wit the achievment that he might need sumtime to recover & rejoin us back

wifey lenovo wit tapatalk

interesting! Ok. But from what I know there's no easily repairable component in the GB? Most cases it requires the whole GB to be overhauled. I dunno la, not on auto anymore so don't caaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrreeeeeeee..

Manual FTW!

But now....

Rarely drive auto car. But for me, the only reason to manually drop the auto GB is before entering fast corner n downhill. Even if I want to sprint at traffic light, I'll just using D, floor the pedal and let the ecu shift up. Ecu will do it at best rpm point. Some driver will start from L or 1, and shift up manually and think they'll go faster. Hahhaa... they may shift under-rev or over-rev. Even if the change it at perfect point, it still a two step job. 1st, driver change the gear level, 2nd, ecu detect it and start change the gear.

TCU la.

Renesis And if I had the option of swapping to manual on my current car, I would consider it when budget permits. But this car doesn't have a manual variant

Some latest models have the TCU in built together with the ECU, right?

why want to up shift and down shift an auto?

just rev up to 8k rpm on L1 settle...
